Hi. My cousin got married in Las Vegas last week and me and my family couldn't afford to go. Anyway, is a $100 gift card from Olive Garden and 2 of our homemade jams good gifts to give her and her new hubby? She lives in Virginia so I know the jam wouldn't melt.

Yes, they have several Olive Gardens in their area.

Restaurant gift cards are a great idea for a wedding gift!!!!!! My daughter and her husband received quite a few of them as gifts. And Olive Garden is a really great place. With $100.00, they'll be able to eat there a few times instead of only once. Your homemade jams sound like a great idea too!!! Put them into a little gift basket with maybe a pack of crackers, nice little juice glasses and a few cloth napkins. Instant snack!! You can buy all of that at a dollar store and make it look really nice! I'm sitting here at work just thinking about how nice a trip to Olive Garden would be right now!! Yum!Yum!

I think that is a great idea to give them homemade jam and a gift card to Olive Garden. Who doesn't like Olive Garden??? I think they would really like your gift.

Actually a check for 100 would be better then the gift card. Think of what they could use it for don't forget they are most likely low on funds because they just got married. But yes 100 dollars and 2 homemade Jams is a wonderful gift and it is the thought that counts

I think the gift card and homemade jams would be a great wedding gift. I would suggest, however, before actually getting a gift card from the Olive Garden that you make sure there is one nearby where your cousin and her new husband live and that it is a place that they enjoy.

If I were you, I would take that fifty dollars and look for something on clearance at a nice store that was for $60 on sale for $20., and then put it in a gift bag from the dollar tree, then give it to them at the reception gathering.. Simple as that!! You can get ideas from off her registry on what she needs. If she asked for a toaster from Macy's, then go to Target or Walmart to get it... No need in mailing anything if you are attending the party later, this way you wont feel you have to buy two gifts or feel weired for going empty handed.. Just wait Besides a gift card is the easy way out, and IM sure they rather have money if you just insist on giving them $50. Otherwise, buy the gift...

Yes, great idea! I've given a gift card as a wedding present before. Personally I would give a card to a store rather than a restaurant, so you may want to consider that ($100 will go much further at Sears or whatever than it will just at the Olive Garden). But that's just my preference.

It only cost $25 for two people to eat at the Olive Garden. $100 seems like too much. I would give them the jams and a gift card to a place like Bed, Bath & Beyond, Target or Macy's.

Certainly! Who doesn't love Olive Garden? It is a nice change from a check or cash (makes it seem more personal you know?) The jams would add a nice touch as well...got for it!

I think the gift card is a fine idea. Make sure they have olive garden in the area though... that would suck if they didnt.
If you dont want to do olive garden... find out if they are registered and get the gift certificate from there... allow them to purchase the things they want that they didnt nessicarily get from other guest.
