They got way overconfident and just on playing. They still played at that machine and then others here and there because they're thinking they might be lucky enough to hit another jackpot in the same night and then they lose it all hours later.

What would you think of them?

That's too bad that it happens. I have a friend who works for a casino surveillance department, she said we'd be surprised what some people do. A woman won a jackpot from a slot machine and spent the rest of the night (until next morning) at the same machine to put it all back.

I would think that they should not be gambling. It's all about self-control. I won $1,200 on a poker machine after being on the boat for only twenty minutes. I walked up to the poker machine, put my one dollar bill in, selected the cards I wanted to keep, pulled the lever, and the machine went crazy! After I got my money, I bought a round of drinks for the party I was with and sat down, for the rest of the evening, with a nice big smile on my face.

If I was to win a Jackpot at a casino I would not go and put it back into the machine. The chances are you will lose it. I would just go cash in the ticket and head straight for the door.

I did that very thing, only it was $8,000.

I would guess that this person is most likely a problem-gambler. And I would also guess that the day after was a very depressing day.

Problem gambling is a symptom of something else; depression, lonliness, loss, etc... If this is a loved one, please try to get them some help.

Ive seen this and it baffled me to no end ..... All I can say is If the big dollars fell out of it today ... it will be a very long time (weeks) before it let go again. Why did'nt you hold your hand out and ask them to give it to you, seem they are doing it anyway. I realize it's all fun, but.... It's common sense. ~Wink~ Good Luck Next time you go.

Not very much. The trick to winning at gambling is to quit when ahead. The more you play the more you will lose.

My advice to you is to stay strictly away from coin machines and keep your gambling in games where you have a better chance of winning. [paraphrasing your answer to my question about how folk play their blackjack hands].
