my son is 17 years old he has had type 1 diabeties since he was 13 he always wanted to go in to some sort of armed services can he still serve

I think it used to be a disqualifier but it may not be anymore. I would ask the local recruiter. If anything, they will monitor it better than the doctors have already. Military is very particular about it.

not likely they kick people out for being diabetic he could probably join the police force thats pretty close or the civil air patrol
