Why is everyone so against Toyota?? Who cares where it is made. Baseball is the "all American" game yet there are tons of non-Americans playing for the teams we love. NASCAR fans have a stereotype of being red-necked southerners... Aren't they the ones who are known for being so closed minded to anything other then good ole boy America?? Who cares where a company is based... Does that change who an organization is? Shouldn't NASCAR fans step up and be the upstanding fans that they should be known for and welcome another competitor or is everyone happy being stereotyped under the confederate flag? Is everyone that afraid of a Toyota dominance?
Tony Stewart fan from the beginning and, until the end.

Just because people have an opinion about something do they have to be so rude in how they vocalize it? Say I have an opinion about a race of people. If I vocalized it at work I would be fired. Tolerance is the key here. If you dislike Toyota cause you do fine, but do not dislike it because it is un-American. Technically right now Dodge is un-American too.

ok for the the minority of people who dislike toyota because of personal experience this post doesn't apply. This post was designed for all those "fans" who don't like toyota because of company headquarters. Imagine if people all over the world didn't use American made pharmacuticals because they were made by an American company. Actually I take that back... These same people who Toyota because it is Japanese, If Japan made a drug that would save your life I am sure you would turn it down because it wasn't made in America.

People are ignorant. They don't think about the FACT, yes fact, that most of their clothes come from Asia, and 99 % of their electronics-'tvs, radios etc. and the FACT that chevys are made in Canada.

I might be one of only a few fans on this one, but I have always liked the idea of Toyota coming into the sport. I always have driven Toyota's anyway, I love them.
Besides that, it's great for NASCAR to have a make like Toyota competing. Gives the sport more exposer. I would honestly like to see more makes come into NASCAR, maybe Nissan or some others. It would be better seeing 5 or 6 different makes out there.
Before anyone mentions it, I know there is not a huge difference in the different brands out on the track. They are all pretty much equal except little things about the engine configurations. But I feel like it would create more competition inside the sport other than just Chevy's which have pretty much taken over the past couple seasons it seems like.

Not everyone is against the change. If Americans in general would read once in awhile they would see that there are more foreign name companies building automobiles in the USA than American name cars. Yes, it is true more foreign cars are built in the USA than are American name. People need to check out their loyalties. I don't see people running away from the Toyota plants here in the United States when payday comes around.
If we don't wake up soon we will not have anything built in this country except foreign name brands. When I looked at a 2008 F250 Super Duty sitting on a dealers lot with parts falling apart right there on the lot then I question why would I spend $46,000 for American when I can buy better quality from foreign makers at a cheaper price.
Look at the AT&T joke going on right now. Sprint doesn't want competition. If they are the best phone service then what are they afraid of with AT&T? They are crying for sponsors but only if they don't compete against Sprint.

I can take or leave Toyota in NASCAR. I don't care for Dodge, but Kasey Kahne is my favorite driver, so what's a person to do? I follow the driver, not the car. I prefer a Chevy myself. I've owned all but a Toyota in my life. Nothing against it, just haven't owned one. I look at it this way. America is made of different races and nationalities, that's what makes this country so great. Let's give Toyota a chance...they may surprise us.

At the beginning of this years season, Darrel Waltrip stated, on air, that Toyotas are American made. Just because the name is foreign, doesn't mean that the company is taking away jobs from Americans. Two of the so called "American" made car companies assemble their cars in Canada and Mexico. Just because they say Dodge and Chevy doesn't mean they're actually made in America now days. Give Toyota a chance. After all, they're made in America!!!!

Okay, First not everyone is against Toyota. You shouldn't make absolute statements. I for one am glad to see them on board. I hope more car brands join the family. For the record I am from Ohio and I don't care one way or the other about the Confederate flag. In case you forgot Chrysler was sold to an American Holding Company and is now American owned.

Yes, there is alot of "red neck" nascar fans, but if they are the only ones you hear voicing their opinion then you need to listen up. MOST of us don't like Toyota and want to see they git their buts kick all over the track, but we don't want to kick them off the track. as for the heritage of the "muscle car", back in the day, if you would have challenged an American muscle car to a race and you drove a Toyota, they would still race you, they would not refuse to race because your car was "un-American". of course you would have to try even hard to earn any respect as a racer and you would do that by winning....... that is what Toyota needs to do now- WIN - then and only then will they start to earn the respect of the "red neck" fans

It seems like every person that I've known that had a Toyota had so many problems with them. That's why I don't like them. It has nothing to do with NASCAR, I just grew up not liking Toyotas. My folks had one that they put so much money into just to keep it running. They finally got rid of it and said they'd never drive one again. And now that I'm driving, I drive something reliable, which isn't Toyota.

Ok to everyone saying where the cars are made..Yes GM and Ford are made in Mexico and Canada. But my point is Ford and Gm and all American companys founded America...these cars made America grow, to me there a big part of my life and why America is wheres it is. But now you have an American based sport and soem foreign company comes and gets into and trys to make money off of us. Its like I invent something and everyone buys i, then an other company coppys my product and takes from my profit. Its bull so go move to Japan and shut your trap. GO TONY

I am a Tony Stewart fan no matter what he drives. To me, who cares. I love racing-- PERIOD!! I dont give a damn if everyone is driving spaceships, its freaking racing. There are more non american people over here than there are americans( we are the minority now) so who cares what make and model of car Nascar allows in the sport. I will be a Smoke fan till the end, because he's a good racecar driver. You people that are not supporting him because he's in a Toyota now, first need to get a life, and second were not real fans of his anyways, and no one needs your support!!!
Go Smoke!!!
