everyone has a specific purpose in life. the gifts and resources that i have available to me are completely different and unique than those that you have, or someone in Asia. if i dont do what i was made and intended to do, than no one else will. isnt it depressing to think that some people have no idea that they have this purpose, and live only to die, so to speak. maybe thats why the suicide rate is so high.

I guess you mean goal in life. The goal of most people is to keep busy and gather little crumbs of happiness from day to day. It is depressing to see it. Real purpose is not something we can invent for ourselves because all we will do is to think of things that make us feel good about ourselves. It amounts to feel-goodism.
Meaning in life is found in living for a real purpose and only God can give real purpose. I think our purpose is to seek God in our everyday lives through trying to obey the commandment to love one another. For where love is, there God is also.
