"We are not evil. We don't harm or seduce people. We are not dangerous. We are ordinary people like you. We have families, jobs, hopes, and dreams. We are not a cult. This religion is not a joke. We are not what you think we are from looking at T.V. We are real. We laugh, we cry. We are serious. We have a sense of humor. You don't have to be afraid of us. We don't want to convert you. And please don't try to convert us. Just give us the same right we give you--to live in peace. We are much more similar to you than you think."
Wicca is a recently reconstructed Neopagan religion based largely on elements of an ancient, pre-Christian Celtic religion. It is thus both a very new and a very ancient religion. A Wiccan is a follower of Wicca. They form the largest single religion within Neopaganism. These terms are well defined and have single, unambiguous meanings. However, there are many traditions within Wicca, just as there are many denominations within Christianity. Each has its own unique beliefs, practices and rituals. All share a recognition of the God and Goddess, a respect for nature. Most respect males and females equally.

Wicca is a nature based religion started in the early 1900's by a man named Gerald Garner. Garner claimed to have attended meetings with witches and pagans and brought the ideas out into the open starting a "new" religion with claims of ancient roots.
It is a nature based religion that follow the cycles of life and death. The belief in duel deities, often worshiped as the gods and goddesses of old. There is little organization and no "pope" like figure to follow, most worshipers have covens that are small groups of men and women who worship together. There are those that choose to worship in solitude.
Wiccans follow the Rede "Do what you will, harm none" and the three fold law, what you do will come back to you three fold.
Wiccans are peaceful and do not try to convert people to their religion, they do not claim to be the only correct religion and most believe that everyone has their own path to Deity.
If you are really interested in the religion I suggest reading Scott Cunningham's book "Wicca: A Guide for the Solitary Practitioner" It is very informative and will give you all the basics you need to know.
Wiccans DO NOT worship the Devil/Satan, they don't believe in a purely "evil" god or a purely "good" god.
If you have any questions please feel free to email me, I am not a Wiccan, but have studied the religion extensively, so I can answer almost anything...and if I don't know the answer then I will find out...

Wicca is a pagan religion that generally worships a God and a Goddess. They see the Deity in nature, and celebrate the seasons and cross quarter days, working spiritually in harmony with nature. Wicca is not passive - witches take part in rituals and rites. There really are no hard and fast rules, except "An' it harm none, do what thou wilt" and many also follow the rule of three - whatever you send out comes back threefold - be it good or bad.
It is more a way of life than a structured religion.

Wicca is a nature-based religion that closely resembles pre-christian paganism.
Dont listen to the people who say it is an evil religion or that it is derived from satan. They can believe that if they want, but if wicca truely fits then go for it.
Head to your local bookstore, if you have some time, and look through the wicca books in the "New Age" Section. If you find one that fits, and makes sense, consider buying it.

It's a religion that recognizes the Divine as both masculine and feminine (God and Goddess) and focuses on the cycles of nature. While it draws from pre-Christian paganism, Wicca was founded in the middle of the last century.

It is not "worship of the creation instead of the Creator" because Wiccans honor the God and Goddess *as well as* their creations.
It's not "satan worship" because Satan is a Christian concept and it's hard to worship something you don't believe in.
It's not "evil" because its main tenets and beliefs focus on harming none and walking in balance.
It IS, however, the subject of much misunderstanding and ignorance, as illustrated by some of the answers to this question.

answer: the final factor you need to do is have faith something approximately Wicca and paganism from television and action pictures. That replaced into ridiculous nonsense. Wicca is a existence putting forward faith that is polytheistic - the worship of diverse deities.

WICCA is a spiritual religion based on listening to nature more than gods.
Most people associate WICCA with witches by casting spells and such however this is not really the case.
WICCA uses "spells" to help protect or guide people. Its not supposed to be used for personal gain or to harm another.
They also use candles, incense and stones in ceremonies.

Oh wow.
Ok Wiccan is NOT hundreds of years old. It's not even 100 years old. It is BASED off religions that are THOUSANDS of years old, mainly Celtic and Druid.
It is an earth based pagan religion that falls under that pagan umbrella. They believe in the God and the Goddess and the aspect there of. Not all pagans are wiccan and not all witches are wiccan. You will even have some argue that not all Wiccans are witches but that varies.
They do NOt worship the creation, they worship the divine creators but no not the Christian god. They do not worship Satan, they don't believe he exists. They celebrate the holidays of the wheel and they are usually big points in the season such as equinox's and solstices.

The Wiccans call Wicca a "Neopagan, Earth-Centered Religion." It centers around the worship of nature, including animals, the rain, the wind, earth, fire, water, etc. They do not worship God, but they find divinity in everything. It is similar to Eastern Mysticism and probably originated from it. PaulCyp is correct. It is basically the worship of the creature instead of the worship of the creator. You should read
Romans 1:18-25 in the Holy Bible.
