Could somebody please tell me how they're doing it, I'd really like to know. How are they able to tear apart what God has joined together?

It's hard to understand because it really makes no sense. Near as I can figure, conservatives believe that if same sex couples are allowed to wed, that heterosexual couples will somehow not want to, or that marriage will be "tainted" somehow and God will be furious. Obviously men and women will still want to get married to each other - they've done so for thousands of years. Personally, I don't see how two people who love each other and are vowing to support and love each other could ever "taint" anything or cause anger on the part of a loving God. Besides, God made all of us the way we are - including those who are gay.

What's actually happening here is that we are allowing certain religious bigots to discriminate against a minority group. They hide behind "good intentions" and "what's right" while denying a good part of the population the right to recognize their union and do many things married couples take for granted. They are denied the right to receive the benefits of their significant other-health care, insurance, etc. If their partner is sick or dying, they are denied the right to make decisions for that person (even if they have been together all their lives). They may not even be allowed to SEE the person. They can't handle funeral arrangements. They can't take care of any legal things that are needed. They are helpless to help the one they love.

This is wrong. There is a separation of church and state in this country, and it's time we reminded some folks that religious bigotry and zealotry have no place in our government. Our government performs marriages daily that have nothing to do with churches. Any justice of the peace may do so. There are also common law marriages. Why shouldn't all citizens be able to qualify for these government upheld practices?

If churches wish to discriminate, deciding whose marriage is "sanctified" and whose isn't, let them do so on their property and in their sphere of control. They certainly shouldn't do it on ours.

They aren't in most cases as generally both partners were single; in some cases a person denies being gay, fails miserable at being straight and leaves their spouse, but not often enough to be called destroying the sanctity of marriage.

The other thing to consider is that the "American" version of marriage is just one of many different forms of marriage and is based on Paul's advice that church leaders should have only one wife - emphasis on "church leader". During the middle ages this teaching was expanded to all church members and consequently to all people.

homosexuality is a affliction of the techniques which makes a woman interested in woman rather of adult men and visa versa. it fairly is an ordinary fact that the male techniques is interested in estosterone (women) and the female techniques is interested in testosterone (adult men) and because term marriage skill the arrival mutually in the previous God of two human beings, a guy and a woman. it is the defenition of marriage so if comparable-intercourse marriages have been allowed, it might ruin the meaning and sanctity of marriage. and the entire factor approximately arranged marriages, my father's buddy had an arranged marriage, hell he wasnt even allowed to fulfill the female untill the day of their marriage, and that they now have i think of four babies and my dad's buddy says that shes the suitable experience for him. think of roughly it, no person is familiar with us better than our mom and dad so they might understand what to look for in a attainable marriage better half. And the entire "divorce fee to over 50%" factor is all by way of fact maximum individuals now marry while they are infatuated with the different individual yet dont fairly love them. My father has a saying that individuals "in love" could by no skill get married by way of fact they are all "o she so staggering and suitable" or "hes the very maximum suitable guy interior the international" kind crap and then once you come across out that they are certainly human, you fall out of love with them then you definately cant stand the guy so which you wind up getting divorced....i fairly think of that if our mom and dad have been people who desperate who we married, we would all stay satisfied marriages.

The end times are near, and what is right will be called wrong, and vice versa.....Most homosexuals engage in having immoral same sex relationships either because they do what they desire and don't care about what God or society thinks, or they try to fight the temptaton but give into it anyway. Either way, it is unacceptable in God's eyes. Marriage is supposed to be between a MAN & WOMAN!! God did not intend for Homosexuals to get married...

Only if a homosexual, or anyone who is unsaved repents of their sin and accepts Jesus into their hearts can they be saved from eternal damnation! I am not placing Judgement, just stating what God says in the Bible. Love the Sinner, Hate the Sin!

I am of the thinking that it is the spouse abusers, adulterers and status seekers that are destroying the sanctity of marriage.

I don't know. Heterosexuals have been destroying the sanctity of marriage for years.

I find it even more ridiculous that some Christians also want to ban "civil unions" between homosexuals, which is only recognized by the government, not the church.

Homosexuals arent destoying marriages. Married people are destroying marriages. People need to get being jugemental predjudicial assholes. People need something to critique so they critique what is not normal to them because they are afraid. Cheating husbands and cheating wives that cant keep their pants zipped destroy marriages. Nothing else. Just because you arent a big enough person to accept them doesnt mean you should blame them for something that you cant understand

Who is tearing anything apart!!! If two men or women want to be joined together and love one another and spend their life together than power to them. Why is it for anyone to judge or get all worked up over it!!! God is loving and love has nothing to do with ones sexual orientaton. Just because people love differently from the norm does not make it wrong. It may not be for you or I but who are we do judge who other can love and spend their life with!!!! There is too much hatered and judgment in this society.

Honey, Gay marriage is just a symptom of a bigger problem. They can't destroy the sanctity of marriage, because that comes from God. It is another way the world is forcing their views and beliefs down our throats. They want our children to grow up believing that it is okay even though it says very clearly in the bible that it is wrong. Hate the sin not the sinner is how I live.
