Are they reducing cholesterol? I know if you have too much you can gain weight but I am not fat so at the moment gaining weight is not my concern. My cholesterol is a little high but ratio is good so not a real concern. but still wanted to ask if the above items are good in general or for redcuing cholesterol or at least they will not increase my cholesterol(?) THANKS.

Yes, but in small amounts. You should probably chose one of the nuts for one day, and have a different another day. Too much will be rough on your stomach and colon, if you know what I mean. The nuts, if dry roasted only, will not increase your cholesterol, as the nuts have good cholesterol in them. But salted nuts are not very healthy and can increase heart disease and other risks. Try having more fiber in your diet, especially at breakfast to help cut down your cholesterol, and try to have fewer breads that are not whole wheat or pumpernickel. Cut out saturated fats, lose the butter whenever possible, no sodas (especially diet) or energy drinks, and watch that you don't eat too much of packaged meats and cheeses, junk food, and frozen dinners. I know walnuts are full of the good cholesterol so I'd think the others are as well. You need good cholestrol to combat the bad. Just don't overeat nuts as they're harder to digest.

they are good in general if you have moderate amounts. I heard from my parents that they actually increase cholesterol if eaten too much?? Not so sure on that one myself...

They are a great sourse of healthy "fats" that your body needs. Just eat them in moderation!

not if you have diverticulosis. nuts and seeds will kill you
