probably because they aren't very refined, rough around the edges, and don't know that it's not an appropriate subject for a date.

talking about our ex's and past love lives isn't a very good topic for dating.

Perhaps you inspire them the confidence to do that, because that bothers a lot of men, so, once they have open ears from a guy they start talking and only a clear sign from you will stop them.
Why do they do so? Mainly because they need to do that. If they were with a girl friend, they would be talking the same subject, so, dont feel upset, on the contrary, you ofer them confidence.
If you think they do that to disturb or bother you, believe me, there are other ways to do it. When they speak about other men, they want to exponse their experiences, to let us know what they have been trough.
If their idea was to say "sorry man I have other fronts to attend" they have enough resourses to express that.
Dont worry, keep enjoying that YOU OFFER THAT STRANGE VALUE KNOWN AS CONFIDENCE.

A lot of women talk about other guys because they want the man that they are with to see them as attractive. They think that if you know that others see them as pretty, then you will realize what a good catch they are. Usually this stems from insecurities. Even the most beautiful girl has doubts about herself, so they get their self-worth from other people thinking or telling them that they are stunning.

I used to do this when talking to my boyfriend, and I still do when I talk to guys I like.

It has nothing to do with trying to make you jealous. she's just sharing her experiences with you, and if she is telling you, it is because she believes you are better than they are - not the other way around. It's a complicated way to diss the other guys and to show that you are an improvement.

I've learned though, from one guy who was frank about it - he didn't want to hear anything about previous relationships. I asked 'why?', and he said it made him mad and he just didn't want to know. I didn't get it, but if that's what you're feeling, take my point as to how girls see it.

Two sides of a coin.

Most (WOMAN) don't young females do, and its for their femininity. The talk also is a signal that says i like males, hint, hint. Hows your testosterone working, If this happens while you are supposed to be committed to her, than talk about girls in front of them. The talk should be in a kind light, I personally don't like gossiping about someone in a bad light behind their backs. No one is perfect, and it takes all kinds to make up this wonder full world.

Ignore it! She probably is trying to make you jealous, don't be. Chicks love the challenge. When she starts talking to other guys, talk to other girls, a social setting is just that... SOCIAL.. be sociable and have good converstaions, who know's? Maybe you'll strike up a conversation with a woman who REALLY wants to talk to YOU.

If a woman mentions a man's name, who has affected her life in some way whether good or bad, she is only sharing herself with you. It doesn't mean she is comparing you to him or trying to make you jealous. Consider yourself lucky if she is opening up and sharing such information with you.

This is a strategy to show you they are desired by others. It's supposed to make you jealous and competitive.

My advice: Don't play into it. Act bored. Hell, BE bored...what do you care about some guy? My attention is EARNED, and not through manipulation.

I don't think that they are, maybe they just don't 'fancy' you, but they see you a a cool, down-to-earth guy, who they can talk to about anything. As a girl i think that that is awesome to have a guy who you can talk to about anything, like many of my friends.
