I saw this on Oprah yesterday. Is she finally returning to her giving ways instead of flaunting her wealth? Maybe I'll start watching her show again.

Yes I have and by the way, it isn't a donation, it's a loan. The micro-borrower pays you back and then you can loan the money out again if you like.

It's a system of micro-loans, first developed by a South Asian gentleman, Muhammed Yunus, some years ago.He was co-recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize in 2006 for his efforts in this field. The same system was used recently by a U.S. civil affairs group in Baghdad to renovate Abu Nuwas Street, a very famous street in that city which had fallen into disrepair beginning in the late 1990s.
