Every morning my wife tells me that i drink to much coffee, but when i ask her what are the side affects, she just says it bad for me. On CNN I heard them say that if you don't drink enough water you can drink coffee instead, but i didn't get a chance to watch the entire show to hear if there were any harmful effect, so i'm not sure if it's really necessary to cut back.

Caffeine poisoning. Overall, caffeine is pretty safe, if a healthy person takes it in moderate amounts.. The undesirable side effects that most people experience are gastric upset and nervousness or jitteriness. A fatal overdose with caffeine is extremely rare, but possible. Some of the symptoms of caffeine poisoning include tremors, nausea, vomiting, rapid heart beat, and confusion. In these cases, individuals may become delirious or have seizures that result in an inability to breath, in less severe cases, high doses have been associated with panic attacks.

Also, because caffeine is a drug, if you quit cold turkey, you will experience withdrawal symptoms such as killer headaches.

Coffee makes me pee, and sometimes will make me forget I am hungry. By lunch time I usually have had 2 cups of coffee, 3 trips the restroom and hungry as a hibernating bear. A lot of caffeine can strip you body of Iron other vitamins, and I find myself craving spinach and lamb more often then most people.

Coffee is a stimulant - it increases your heart rate and therefore your blood flow. There are theories that this can cause fatigue and in some cases decrease sexual response. You shouldn't use coffee to replace water as it is a diuretic and can stress your kidneys as well. Hope this helped.
