Do you think that Tony will stick around and drive that crap? I am torn because I love Tony, and will follow him wherever he chooses to go or stay, but I HATE TOYOTA!

first of all, I didnt ask for your ignorant comment about how closed minded I am. That is not what this is about. I am entitled to my opinion, as are you, but if you want to bash me for my opinion, get ready to hear it back from me about yours! Secondly, yes, there are many Toyota assembly plants in the states, but where do you think they originated from??? JAPAN - Jackasses! Hows that for CLOSED MINDED??? I hate that Tony is forced to drive that crap, but no matter what......I am with him.

100% Chance he stays... -100% that he leaves. He was in on the Toyota deal from day one I'm sure. I'd hate it too though if my HMS compadres' left Chevy for those damn Yotas. A star to you though for sticking with your favorite driver, even though you "HATE TOYOTA".

You are a TRUE fan.

I heard that Joe Gibbs racing is thinking about leaving Chevy and driving Toyotas. But i also heard Tony swear that he would never drive toyota. So i think your friend is a little mixed up on his facts. If Joe Gibbs did go to Toyota you can be almost positive that Tony Stewart would leave Joe Gibbs Racing team. But lets all hope that the whole team stays chevy so Tony doesnt have to look for a new ride, and we dont have to turn on another great team!

I agree its a tough to see this. I'm a Stewart fan and I don't think Toyota has any business being in NASCAR. I'll still support him but I will never agree with Gibbs for selling out like that. Toyota has proven nothing other than they have the most money. They will drive everybody else out of NASCAR and quit when there is nobody else to complete with. They have done it in every series they get involved in.

Pickled - You are closed minded. Your belief that anything American is junk shows this. You have probably never even driven an American car. What do you have to say about Buick's ranking #1 as most dependable car after 3 years? What about Ford beating Toyota in quality? Ignore it all you want but its true.

Kevin - How can you claim that Toyota is American? So they have a few plants here. Their HQ is in Japan. The profits go to Japan. The employ only a small percentage of what GM, Ford, and Chrysler does in this country. GM employs more people in Metro Detroit than Toyota does in North America.

Tony announced that he is extending his contract so he IS sticking around. I think it's not smart on their part because the HUGE advantage they had in the COT development will basically be wiped out. They cannot start developing the Camries until this season is over because of their contract with Chevy. Is it just me or did the JGR panel not look all that fired up at the press conference? This is definitely a business decision and NOT a decision based on competitiveness. That seems to be the driving force in NASCAR anyways, business over competition. They go to tracks based on the market and trying to expand the popularity of the sport but at the expense of more interesting tracks that were great for racing. The Toyotas that are made in the US are MORE American made than many Chevy, Ford and Dodge vehicles so that aspect isn't an issue with me. I'm just wondering if Toyota will end up being the Yankees of NASCAR and basically buy themselves some championships by spending way more on their team than anyone else is capable of. It is no secret that Toyota's pockets are much deeper than any of the "big 3".

Let's not forget that the Camry is built in the US. The Impala and Monte Carlo are not...I don't think the unAmerican argument really flies any more.

Toyota has done very well in the truck series in a relatively short amount of time. With the addition of JGR resources as well as possibly 4 drivers currently in the top 20 in points, Toyota will be doing quite well in Cup real soon.

Free market is American - that is what this is about...Toyota had the best deal for JGR.

I'm a huge Gibbs fan and I totally support this decision. Toyota is just as American as any other manufacturer these days. On the plus side Toyota is producing 50hp more on average than the others and that will give them a huge advantage. I see Gibbs leading the pack next year. Decisions like this are what has made him so successful in ever thing he does. I know you may hate Toyota, but it is undeniable their impact in motor sports. I am from North Carolina and have deep family ties with NASCAR. I support all competition within NASCAR. I say allow them all to enter, and let the cream rise to the top. I guess I'll see everyone at the races. I'll be the one driving my Yota to the track.

Reported!

What about Chevy's loyalty to Gibbs. All those races won for the bow-tie and they were unable to give up enough money to keep Gibbs. Gibbs can win with any manufacture so why not go with the one that pays them the most. Would you take a 50% pay cut because your company has forigen interest.

I don't agree with Joe Gibbs Racing and their decision, the Toyota vehicles have not done well at all this season. I am curious to see if the teams and drivers of Joe Gibbs can make it work but I have my doubts. I think they should stick with Chevy.

Just because JGR is switching to Toyota means nothing to me. I am a Smoke fan and always will be no matter what. I dont care what he drives. And if you people are true fans, it doesnt matter what they drive. Tony could drive a space ship and I will still be his fan till the day he retires, which is not soon, cause he just extended his contract. I dont think he cares what he drives as long as he can race. He has already stated, he will retire from JGR and he will do so with Greg Zipadelli. He doesnt want to drive for anyone else. What is everyone's deal with the manufacturers. Ya'll are just not race fans. I love to watch racing---WHO CARES WHO DRIVES WHAT!!! The only thing that is different in the COT is the engine. I think the body is just a little different, but the COT cars are all the same for everyone.

True race fan---GO SMOKE!!

Timi M- you are a loser. And obvisously not a fan of racing. I dont care what kind of car it is, I love racing-PERIOD!!! I just think all you people are racist. There are more non americans living in the US, than there are americans. Just so all you dont get confused, I am white and I do live in the south(Texas). We are the minority, but that does not give anyone the right to say toyota in un american. Toyota plants in the US give people jobs. All you losers that think its un american are just ignorant. I drive a gm, but who's to say that when I am ready to get a new car, I wont switch model's. Who cares? You people need to get a life. Racing is not all about what they are driving, its just about racing. I am a tony fan for life, no matter what. And for those who arent anymore because they are switching makes of cars, then smoke doesnt need you as a fan. GET A LIFE!!!!!

I think Toyota had to get a top team, if they wanted to win, and if any driver can get it done its Smoke, he is a great driver he wants to race.. Its going to be hard to adjust to, but with the 3 great drivers Smoke, Denny and Rowdy, i'm sure they will get it done... I'm not happy, but hey, its all about money these days.. I'm a chevy fan true and true.. If Dale Jr got in a Toyota, I'd have a major melt down..
