After 14 years Coor's Light will no longer sponsor the #40 car. Could this be in preparation to sponsor Dale Jr. since he will not be sponsored by Budweiser? The timing just made me wonder.

Hardly.

Look at the other Hendrick cars, no alcohol. If Rick wanted a beer car, he would've brought in the King of Beers with the King Bucks!

No, it is rumored that Pepsico is working out the details of a Mountain Dew/AMP (an energy drink) sponsorship for over half the races on Jr's car next year. The other races would be sponsored by the National Guard. This announcement should be within the next couple of weeks after they get the number secured (81 is my guess). I'm not sure what title sponsorship for the Busch Series would run them but THAT could be feasible. I'm sure they would consider that a victory to take over the series that has been synonymous with an Anheuser Busch product for all those years. As far as I know a couple of possible series sponsor deals have fallen through and they are still looking to lock that up for next year and beyond.

Nope no coors for jr.. his sponsors suppose to divided up between Nat'l Guard & Mountain Dew/Amp, there has been some talks about Sony, but have not heard anything in that direction in a while.. Coors Lite should try to find someone who can drive, Stremme, just hasn't been a good coors lite driver of the #40...

I bet Coors would love that, but I don't think they would have the $$$ to throw @ JR. He's a high-priced piece of retail. I'm pretty sure the Jayski.com reports are true about 55% sponsored by Mountain Dew/AMP Energy, and 45% National Guard. As for Coors, It'll be interesting to see where they go, if anywhere. I'd like to see Sterling find a full-time decent CUP ride and take the Coors Light sponsorship back. Like him or not, He was a better face of Coors than Stremme has been.

No, Bud didn't go with Jr because of Hendrick's sponsor conflicts. Coors would have the same problems.

Coor's will not go to HMS!

HMS will announce Jr's new sponsor very soon, it is almost inked!

Most likely Coor's will go to DEI.

Yes, I've heard about the Pepsico deal, but also heard that Sony is interested!
I heard this sometime back on the Speed Channel.
They have both got the money to do it and even if it is not one of them someone will shower Hindricks/Jr with money to have their name or names on that car!!!

No it has been announced that Pepsi-co will be the sponsor. And Jr announced he is gay!
Also hendricks did have beer as a sponsor before. They had Budweiser a while back.

HMS already has more sponsors than they know what to do with. Coors will just find another team worthy of their money & effort. Stremme isn't doing it.....
