I am not health obsessed or intent on losing weight but i have heard that as soon as you feel hungry you should drink a glass of water. If the water fills you up then you are prob just bored but if not then have a snack.

You should eat 6 small meals a day instead of 3 large meals.

Eat your food slower so that you give yourself time to realise that you are full before you get to the stage where you have over eaten and feel bloated.

Again with the water, i would have a glass of water with every meal.

If you are eating smaller meals more often then you will have more energy throughout the day rather than having those periods of fatigue in the afternoon or just before lunch.

Try taking things that are healthy with you like nuts or dried fruit or a muesli bar with you although watch the sugar in those.

Look for foods that are low GI as they release your energy slower over time, are easier to digest and again should keep you going. Goodluck...

Have just done some research for you. Look for things that have Psyllium in them. It helps to make you feel full and can be found in the health food section of the supermarket but be careful as it is a fibre additive and can have a laxitive effect.

If you are feeling hungry you aren't getting the proper nutrient balance. You can add a multivitamin or you can try the website MyPyramid.gov (it's free) and see if you are eating the right foods for your activity level. Just because a person eats doesn't mean that they are eating correctly. Examine your diet and activity and adjust as needed. Good Luck!

I would suggest getting out of the house more. getting some fresh air and keeping busy. Drinking lots of water in between meals or when you feel like snacking also helps. eat the right kinds of foods when it is meal time so you will feel full longer. whole wheats are always a plus.

Eat slower. This will give your brain time to realize that food is on its way to the stomach. You'll eventually eat less.

Try to eat a handful of nuts. Peanuts in the shell are my favorite. Also try sunflower seeds, because you feel like you are eating, but you are not ingesting a lot. Nuts have a chemical in them that make your brain think that it is full. Hope this works for you.

Many times food cravings are a result of deficencies in your diet and not a lack of will power. With a small child to take care of your sarotnin levels are probably low and you are not getting enough essential vitamins. For information on the topic please visit the following site.

drink lots of water... also.. if you're trying to lose weight and your concern is hunger... Atkins or South Beach ( Atkins "light" ) are both diets that fill you up... but you have to be strict... the stuff that puts weight on most people are all the "white foods" ( carbs ) meaning potatoes...chips...breads...crackers...cookies... because they turn to sugar in the body...then the sugar turns to fat... and other than that it's sugar... juices...fruits...sweets...

things you can eat a lot of?...

scrambled eggs..( throw in veggies )
leafy greens...
raw veggies...
steamed veggies...
mushrooms...
chicken... ( skinless )
fish...
beans ( any kind except "baked"...sugar again...)

bon appetite
