If they don't obey God & renew their mind in the Word of God? If they don't obey God & build their faith by hearing & hearing a Word about Christ / God?
It is written that he who is an overcomer is born of God, and that our victory is our faith. So? Faith is sooo important. Faith in Jesus Christ atonement & resurrection & in His Word.

godblessthepope, Are you making excuses for not reading the bible? Forget about the Catholic Cannon & read the King James with a Strongs Exhaustive. The Catholic Cannon has apocryphal in it. Unless you discern this, you will have problems with your faith in the bible truth.

Moises, Those who Jesus said he didn't know, Jesus didn't know them. Every child born of God (born again) Jesus knows them. And they don't abide in iniquity. It is impossible for those born of God to abide in sin (make it a comfortable habit) because of the Holy Seed within. 1-3John. If we tried to abide in iniquity, God would take us home early.

BC The foundation of Christianity is hearing the Gospel. The foundation of it. That Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God & He shed His blood on Calvery's cross for remission of our sins & raised up for our justification. Faith comes from God to confess this with our mouth. When a person is born again through confession & heart faith, God's way, then they are a Christian. A baby Christian. Some don't renew their mind in the Word of God. So don't know who they are in Christ. The Word of God encourages us in our faith. And we can say the Word & hear ourself & grow in faith.

Good question. They won't ever know who they are if they never read their Bible.
That is one of the major problems in the church today. Too many walking around with identity crisis'.
Never knowing who they are in Christ or their real potential in the kingdom of God.

By your own logic, there could not have been any such thing as a Christian until about 400 years after Christ's Ascension...that's when the books of the Bible were compiled and generally agreed upon.
Or even later, when the Bible could be printed and distributed widely...and the common man was able to read.
The Bible is indeed an important element of Christianity...but not the sole source. There's also such things as secular history, oral history, tradition, writings of the early Church Fathers, and intellect that Christians can draw from.
As for the King James translation...who on Earth made that the "official" translation. Even back in King James' day when its syntax was the vernacular of the English peasantry, its text was meaningless to those who might read only Greek or Norwegian or whatever.

No. Catholics use the unique texts of the old testomony, used via Christ and his Apostles. Martin Luther had 7 books faraway from the old testomony in an attempt to distance himself from Catholic authority. The books weren't further interior the sixteenth century as Pastor artwork shows. The books have been area of the Septuagint (the Greek translation of the Hebrew scriptures) which predates the delivery of Christ. The lifeless Sea Scrolls, that have been got here upon interior the 20 th century, corroborate this. The Catholic Church has on no account further to Scripture.

Your question is kind of oxymoron-ish. How indeed can a person even BE a Christian without knowing the Word of God?
Romans 10:17 -- So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Don't forget: Christianity and the Church came BEFORE the Bible, so ask yourself how the first Christians knew who they were. The first Christians listened to teachers and preachers. The Bible was not necessary for them, nor was it available to the average Christian for centuries afterward.
Now, of course, the Bible is the Word of God, and its great to have and to read. But if every Bible magically disappeared from the face of the earth today, the Faith and the Church would go on. That is why Christ established a CHURCH, not a Bible. The Bible can be twisted by any reader, but the Church and the Faith endure forever.

AMEN- The only way to truly know Jesus is to spend time with Him, in His Word and through prayer. I do not know any true, born again believe that would say, you can be a Christian without meditating on His Word- and by the way, you cannot believe a Christian if you don't believe in Christ.

I am a Christian. Until just recently, Bibles were not available to everyone, nor could everyone read even if they had access. I believe that an all-powerful God can keep His own no matter what. However, I do believe if you have the Bible available, it is beneficial to read it. It does help one learn, grow and become stronger in their faith.

Great question! The first thing is that we need to believe that we are saved. The most important part of being a born again Christian that you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. And when you do accept Him then we accept that we need to know His Word and follow His example.
I love to study my Bible. And I love to worship my Lord. If you do not, there is some spiritual maturing to do. : )

It is your TRUST in JESUS CHRIST, you will want to turn to the Bible for answers.
You are NOT TOLD to read the Bible.
It can be overwhelming.
I have The AMPLIFIED BIBLE.
A child can understand it.
It reminds us of God's Love and and it will make you want to pick it up at times.
Keep it handy.
We renew our mind, I think, when we go to a church that TEACHES THE BIBLE.
Some do NOT.
YOU ARE RIGHT!!
It IS our faith that we know who we are in Christ.
And that faith helps us to tell people HOW GOOD our God is!!
