Genesis chapter 4 starts telling the birth of Adan & Eve's first two sons Cain & Abel. But then the focus of the chapter changed from Adam and Eve story to focus on Cain & Abel story. That does not mean that Adam & Eve stopped having more babies, including girls, until Cain killed Abel. Also, Moses' and jews in general did not included details of girls births in the genealogies, so it may be possible that a girl or more were born between Cain and Abel.
Cain's wife was most probably been his sister, unless he waited until a daugther of one of his brothers (married to a sister) was old enough to be wed.

Sheesh, be nice, mzJakes!
Adam and Eve had multiple children as indicated in Genesis 4. As these children spread out and formed little communities, they intermarried.
Isn't that incest? Yes. Didn't God forbid incest? He did later. What, really, is the big problem with incest? -- Genetics. If I marry my sister and we have children, they have a GREATLY increased chance of inheriting any genetic defects my sister and I both carry since we come from the same parents. If our children receive the same defect from both parents, it will be compounded and made worse in the next generation. To save us from deformative or even fatal compounding of genetic defects, God outlawed incest.
Why didn't he outlaw it right away? Because Adam and Eve were created flawless by the hand of God. Had they remained sinless, their genes would have remained flawless. Because they sinned, genes are now susceptible to the same corruption everything else is. Over time, as the flaws got worse, God forbade any further direct intermarrying.
Some recoil at the thought of incest EVER having been acceptable, and think the Bible is wrong because it allows for it in its early chapters. But think about it -- whether you believe in Creation or evolution, you're going to have sex with someone related to you if you go back on the family tree far enough. :-P

Genesis 5:4 says Adam became father to sons and daughters. Most likely, Cain (Abel died) found his wife among one of his sisters. Since they lived a lot longer than we do today, they were healthier, so the detrimental effects of entering into a marriage with a sibling was almost nonexhistent. By the time God established the Law Covenant, this kind of marriage arrangement was not to be considered as an acceptable practice, since, by then, there were thousands of humans on the earth.

Adam and Eve had three sons that we know of. They probably had more and I can assure you that they had many daughters. The Bible does not give us these details because only the line of Seth is important. Your missing the whole point. We could study history from the Bible but the Bible was not intended to be a history book.

Where does it say Adam and his wife were the only people directly created by God? It does not. More were made.

OBVIOUSLY there were other people in Nod.
Genesis disproves Genesis.
I am sure Adam and Eve supposedly had other children, however, NO OTHER CHILDREN WERE MENTIONED IN THE BUY-BULL PRIOR to Cain finding a wife in Nod.

Your question is a classic example of proceeding on hearsay, instead of doing personal research.
Personally research Genesis 5:4.
