Since coming to R&S I actually have more questions now than before. But I have also learned a great deal from all the participants here. My eyes have been opened to many things. I have opened myself up to new ideas accordingly.

I don't have to reinforce stereotypes. People here do a nice job at that on their own.
I've been to many religion forums over the years, and this is one of the worst. Though I think that's largely due to the set-up (Q&A format, rather than an actual messageboard where ideas can develop and topics remain in view for more than 10 minutes).
Ideally this should be a place for simple, objective Q&A like all the other forums, just on the subject of R&S. But in reality it just "soap box" for people.

Being an Atheist means I am certain in the lack of a god. I stil have not heard/seen a single piece of evidence presented that would call into question what I know.
So far I have not seen one original argument or piece of alleged evidence for the existence of anything supernatural since I started here.

There are no new ideas in the religion and spirituality forums. Its the same old tired rhetoric with Christians claiming to own the truth and Athiests asking for proof.
Its all one big Yawn fest

I've learned that it is possible to agree with someone, but to still be their friend.
I know that we aren't all going to believe the same things so it makes more sense to learn what others think and to try and find common ground.
If there is none, we can still accept each other as human beings.

You'll have to ask Yahoo, because like all the sections I believe this one was created to gain interest from consumers so Yahoo can collect more ad revenue. Perhaps you could attend a stockholder's meeting and ask if the potential is being met.

I am learning not to attack christianity without provocation or just cause, because until I learn that it still has a hold over me.
The potential of R&S is equal to the potential of its members, so I think it safe to say that R&S does not live up to its potential.

I'd have to know what the goal was in setting up the site before I could say if it's living up to its potential.
I'm quite surprised at the attitude that christians have towards atheists.
What new idea's?

I have been through a whole gamut of emotions hanging around in here. I think it serves different purposes for different people. For some, they just want to know there are others out there that feel like they do. For others, they want a place to push their philosophy or flaunt what they think is their superiority. Some people are looking for answers. I came looking to make sense out of who I am spiritually through the experiences of others, although I do not believe in God.

I'd say- judging just by what I hear on here- that we have a rather bleak future ahead of us.
