According to the bible, it is the god of the bible that has produced the most killing. satan could not harm without god's permission. Quite a bloodthirsty fellow/lady if you ask me. Of course, religious ideas are just ideas without humans to carry them out. Therefore, humans who actually buy into the religious fervor of a god who would murder babies, women, men, sons and daughters, and followers of other religions, are responsible, irrespective of their religious background.

Now be fair- most of the major religions have gone off on a mad one at some time or another, Christianity, Islam, and Hinduism- and it's not as if people even need religion to throw people into the meat-grinder, just look at Stalin.

The catholic church has killed more more Christians, Jews, or just more people than anyone else in any given time. islam comes in second place only to them.
If people who are members of satanic cults (I'm talking about people who know they are a member of a satanic cult and proclaim to be a member of a anti-Christ church) actually knew the Bible verse what the catholic church tells people it is as a front, they won't have a problem being a member of mama--none what so ever.
islam doesn't care who knows who they are killing today or who they intend to kill tomorrow.
mama keeps it very hush, hush.

Adding to what TK421 mentioned, hitler seems the obvious pushing of Nietsche's (Mr. God is dead) thinking to it's boundaries, so chalk up another 54 million to atheism. And of course, mao killed 10s of millions of chinese, atheism again. I'm pretty sure the crusades and inquisition combined couldn't post numbers like that.

Throught out all of time? I would say Pagans. The Christians have only been around for 2000 years. But thier 2000 years hasn't been all roses that's for sure.

Don't use the X for Christ. Ignorant Christians don't know it's a sign of respect based in their religion and neither do some non-Christians. People should be beaten with history books until they get it.
Christ's not worth that kind of respect, IMO.
I'd say famine has killed the most. Unless famine is a religion, Christianity is off the hook.

Stalin killed 60 million people and he was an Aetheist... The Soviet Union was one giant atheist nation and they wracked up a terrific body count. The Chinese are also have and are wracking up a nice body count.
And also, killing a lot of people can be a sign of military prowess and not the negative you are implying. Killing isn't WRONG per se. It USUALLY is wrong....
