Any aerobics will help. Actually, any physical excersise will strenthen your back.

Many good answers here pilates is excellent by the way. Just thought I'd say sit ups are a good way of knackering an already weak back. I have a "bad" back and go to a chiropractor every month or so which helps he told me to avoid sit up's like the plague.
Yoga I'm told is pretty good too

Lie flat on your back - on a blanket or something - not the plain floor.
Breathe in and raise one leg in the air - breathe slowly out and count to 10 lowering your leg as you do so. Do the same with the other leg.
