im trying to lose some weight and im sticking to a certain amount of calories per day. my family eat 'good' food- as in not junk but also not healthy really. on average we'd have something like chicken korma, or pizza, or pasta.
what's a rough idea of how many calories this is? as in, about 100, about 500, etc?
i know it would very i just need an average.
Thanks x

A homemade dinner - 600-800? Depending on the dinner, ingredients, etc. Pizza generally has about 200 calories a slice depending on toppings. A pasta dish probably has well over 400 depending on if there's cheese involved.

It really all depends, I like this site: http://www.thedailyplate.com/

Try this CalorieKing site. You tell it what you are going to eat and it tells you the calories. Like each slice of plain cheese pizza or a half-cup of pasta with canned sauce are each about 272 calories. Throw in some soda at 150 calories per glass. Then multiply that by how many slices or servings of pasta and you get the big idea very quickly.
