What do you guys think? Is this a good idea? I know companies are not supposed to discriminate but it's possible...Anyone know anyone who got a position while pregnant...I am currently employed full time but want a change.Thanks.

I suggest you remain with your current employer until after you have delivered.

Put yourself in a prospective position. If you have an opening and trying to fill it, would you select someone knowing that they would only be working for a few for a few months? I'm not sure what exposure the employer would have from a Family Medical Leave Act perspective, but my guess is they would have to keep your position open until you return to work which could 6 weeks to 3 months.

I think your chances of finding new employement will improve after you have had the child and made the necessary arrangements for child care.

I'd stick with the job you have until after the baby comes.

Companies can just not hire you for a lot of reasons, and they don't have to give a reason - many companies would be very reluctant to hire someone who is pregnant. Legal or not, that's the real world.

This would NOT be a good time to change. Wait until after the baby comes and you have child care set up for returning to work.

You probably have insurance now and have a secure position, quiting would only add stress to you life at a challenging time.

Hi,

You can opt for a home-based job for a while. There are a few genuine online jobs. But you should be aware of scamsters on internet. Don't pay anything upfront to get an offer. It depends on how pregnant you are. Are you showing? I would wait, especially if you are going to take leave, because some jobs have stipulations where benefits don't kick in until after a probationary period. You will need your benefits during this time.
