Halliburton is building fourteen (yes - 14!) new permanent U.S. military bases in Iraq.
The U.S. is constructing the largest embassy in the world on a 104-acre site in downtown Baghdad, overlooking the 'new' Iraqi puppet government installed by the Bush administration.
The 'future of Iraq' is simple: it will be occupied by the United States for decades - perhaps generations - until all of its OIL has been sucked out of its sands.

Yeah, what exactly do you know about anything??
The Second World War in Europe ended in May 1945 which explains why I was standing guard on the border of East and West Germany in the early 1970's and U.S. Troops are there today. If you want peace you are going to have to pay for it one way or another.
The Second World War in the Pacific ended in August 1945 which explains why we still have troops in Japan to this very day and the majority of the Japanese still want us there to aid in the defense of the Asian Rim. The Korean Conflict ended in 1953 and there is still a U.S. presence there because the South Koreans want us there. Poland is bending over backwards because they want us to establish U.S. Bases there to help ensure their long term defense.
People across the globe love the idea of having U.S. Troops stationed in their country because it guarantees the defense of their government, it gives them a secured economy with the influx of U.S. currency and buying power. If the Pax Americana is so bad and evil how has it stood for so long, in so many different countries?
You're fooling yourself if you think we're going to put out of Iraq. Even if you manage to vote into office your favorite DemocRAT next year, nothing will change. No matter how bad they say U.S. Troops in Iraq is today, in February 2009 the New President is going to break your native little by telling you that we have to guarantee the security of the Middle East and remain in Iraq for the long term...

If you listen to the people of Iraq, you will hear that in the future Iraq will look like it has always looked. It will continue to be a backward superstitious inbred violent dirty little nothing. When our soldiers leave the people of Iraq will quickly get back to business as usual. That is to say they will start killing each other in record numbers until some ruthless dictator takes over and forces his particular brand of religious-government down their throats. Of course all of this will only last until they themselves or some other arab neighbor begins using nuclear weapons and cleans the whole mess up once and for all.

No, it's to resemble a civilized society where people can go about their business in a peaceful organized manner with out the fear of repercussions for their religion, beliefs or faith. To peruse life, liberty and happiness. To buy sell and trade on the open market. To obtain freedom of choice.

No, with its(Iraq) unity government looking weak and futile plus the international furor of what the u.s. has done in Iraq (notwithstanding local dismay in america, republicans lost big time in the congressional elections) i don't think they'll have a base in Iraq. Its a political and financial suicide for the u.s.
