The smallest Twin engined aircraft is almost certainly the CriCri (cricket). It can and has taken off from the roof of a Shogun 4x4.

I agree with Tinkicker, the Colomban Cri-Cri is the smallest one I have seen fly. It is single seat, has a wingspan of 14feet and is powered by 2, 15Horsepower JPX engines. The aircraft which took off from the Mitsubishi Shogun was
G-SHOG.

ps, The Bede BD5 was grounded in the UK because of safety reasons so it shouldn't really count.

I would think that the world's smallest jet would be one of the BDs. BD5 maybe?

As of 1988 anyhow the Bumble Bee II is the world's smallest biplane and The Stits Baby Bird is considered the world's smallest monoplane

Ray Stits once built a bi-plane
with a six foot wingspan,
just to see if he could.
Never STC.'d AFAIK.
