Yes... they can track the your car down by the paint left on the car you hit. It doesnt matter if it was just a couple of scratches they could still find you and you'd be in trouble.

Yes,,,this is a hit and run accident. The best way to handle this is to call the police and file a report. Then contact your insurance company and inform them.I know this is an ethical matter and a good measure of someone's character. If you run,,,there is a chance that enough evidence may be left at the scene to ID the make and model of your car,,or at least the color. This does not guarantee that they could locate you but it would certainly be a worry and a risk you would take.I hope you are careful in the future and stay safe.

The proper thing to do is leave a note. Always call the police. For your own protection.
Even if they chose not to come, they still will have a record of your call.
If the ins co asks " did you call the police, " saying " yes, but they told me they would not come" shows a lot more concern on your part than saying " No, I didn't."
You see, if the cars are driveable and there are no injuries, they are not required to come.
No, this is nota silly quyestion. The only sillytor dumb questiosn are those you are too ashamed to ask.
I hope you go on to be a safe, courteous driver.
Good luck.

Hit and run is exactly what it is. In many states hit and run is a felony. It is an irresponsible and totally selfish thing to do. You never know who might be watching you. All it would take is somebody to jot down your license plate number and the police will be looking for you.

Yep. Turn yourself in to the local police station and take your lumps. Just burst into tears while talking to them - let them know you are inexperienced - take your lumps - if nobody reports it to the police, you may never be charged. In the future, re-park and call the police right away, and then call your insurance company.

Hit-and-run has severe legal consequences including the suspension or cancelling of one's driver's license, as well as imprisonment. Lifetime revocation of a driver license is possible in certain jurisdictions.
