When you have a cylinder miss, the engine light comes. If you accelerate and it continues to miss, the light will flash on and off. This is to warn you that the miss is pumping too much raw, unburned air into the cat. converter and will cause it to over heat and melt. Thus making it non efficient. Change not only the plugs, but also the plug wires. When these plugs start missing, it carbon tracks the wires too. So when you change the plugs, you could still have the miss.

It could be the idle air control valve. This valve adjusts the idle when you start the air conditinong, put it in drive, turn on the headlamps.... It makes up for the different accesssories that can pull down the idle when they are running. Get the codes scanned at a parts place and see if thats it.

Engine mounts are bad.

Open the hood start the car.

Look at the engine hold the brake and shift the car to reverse then drive and back to reverse.

Let it get into gear and watch the engine - if it rocks around the mounts are shot.

This will cause wiring to loosen and faulty codes to come on.
