its actually marijuana. Do you really feel like some sort of monster will come out of the person? Do the people that think the "Reefer Madness" movie was true not know that pot actually calms people?

From experience most marijuana smokers have posed no more of a threat than that of one who drinks alcohol.

The problem that most marijuana supporters face is the
Controlled Substances Act (CSA) which was enacted into law by the Congress of the United States as Title II of the Comprehensive Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Act of 1970.

The CSA is the legal basis by which the manufacture, importation, possession, and distribution of certain drugs are regulated by the federal government of the United States. The Act also served as the national implementing legislation for the Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs.

Classifications of specific drugs into the five schedules under the CSA are based upon the criteria of potential for abuse, accepted medical use in the United States, and potential for addiction.

To start...because marijuana is NOT the only THC product available, there are no specific needs for its' medical use.

Additionally, to legalize marijuana would provide the potential for more smokers behind the wheels of cars. Being the effects are similar to that of alcohol you present an even larger problematic issue for enforcement.

Until the policies of the US Government and Foreign Treaties with allied nations are rescended marijuana will continue to be illegal.

From a law enforcement prospective...Yes!...there are more dangerous drugs on the streets. That does not mean that marijuana still poses no danger to the user or those in close proximity to a user. Effects may vary dramatically from one person to another based on a variety of factors such as body chemistry, age, gender, physical health etc.

Many attempt to cite fatality statistics of marijuana versus alcohol. Relating there have never been marijuana fatalities is furthest from the truth as the marijuana fatalities are well documented as contributory factors in traffic fatalities.

Despite what information one provides here, there is more evidence (fact) that supports the denial of marijuana legalization than support of legalization.

After having been in law enforcement for over 30 years, I know that there have been as many "calm" smokers as there have been "violent" smokers.

You still haven't convinced me!

Best wishes.

I've never seen the "Reefer Madness" movie so I couldn't tell you whether it was true or not.

Folks smoking marijuana react differently. Some (maybe most) are calmed by it, and I've never been assaulted by or fought with a pothead. However, plenty of folks under the influence of marijuana have made very poor judgements that endanger themselves, their friends and the rest of us.

I responded to more accidents than I can count with the driver being high. There is, regardless of whatever pro-legalization supporters claim a correlation between marijuana usuage and progession to other drugs. That's not to say if you smoke weed, you're automatically gonna become a meth whore, but everyone I'd arrested for meth, crack etc started with weed.
Some studies link heavy marijuana use to the development of serious mental illness in later life.

In all truth is it any worse than alcohol? Probably not, but it's illegal. Don't like the law, get it changed....

As for your dude smoking his joint when I run (not jog) past. He's a dumbass, asking me or one of my brothers/sisters to give him a ticket. If he was the responsible weed smoker that
everyone pothead seems to think they are, I'd never see him. Thus I'd never "hassle" him, and be such a pig etc etc

Drugs affect people differently. Some people can drink alcohol every day and be fine. Some can't. I'm sure the same is true of marijuana. Banning it helps keep it away from the majority of people who will probably create havoc (car accidents, ect.) if they get their hands on it. But, that ends up punishing the others who would use it for fun and be just dandy.

I used to awaken grab a cup of black espresso and a cigarette. I possibly smoked 5 earlier ten am and then end a %. an afternoon. yet I end. i think large. bite the nicotine gum. it works once you're waiting to end. I placed a gaggle of my previous cigarette butts in a jar and extra some water. It appears like liquid black tar. i seem at it while i opt for a cigarette and then i do no longer choose one anymore or if I do, I bite i piece of the gum and then i do no longer choose one. end bro. Smoking sucks ***. you're a slave to the cigarette businesses.

There is a day close on the horizon when we find out that the medicinal use of marijuana works! Not only does it calm but it takes pain down.

At first i thought this was a joke. Who cares if they are smoking weed first thing in the a.m if anything they are probably more relaxed...

I'm not a weed smoker per se but I know it is know for a calming effect.

Weed is NOT a gateway drug anymore than a cigarette is. Furthermore, weed is less dangerous than alcohol when we are talking about driving or domestic disputes.

Weed brings people together.

I heart weed. :o)
