I don't interpret the need to be loved or accepted as being even remotely related, to the sin of vanity.
Some avatars are humerous or stand out in the crowd and cause others to take notice(mine is one, that fits that description)..But Ideally,an avatar is just a marker of identification, which may in some respects, identify a personage and his or her character or beliefs, but certainly does not define the person.
I think an interesting experiment would be,that everyone for a day or two, would have the identical yahoo provided avatar(all the same gender, with a numerical name)..maybe we would be more in tune to a person's spirit rather than to an avatar.
I doubt if God even takes much notice to my silly representation...he certainly does have every word that I have spoken, inscribed in his memory...
I took your plea seriously, not to receive a bunch of thumbs up,but because I felt your heart and feel for you..To post a question such as this, you must be feeling the emotion of rejection...I actually can't remember what your current avatar looks like and I just viewed it!!! I will remember you and your heart, however,((((Queen of Yack)))). I'm not being melodramatic...just real. I hate to see anyone that is experiencing emotional pain...I have a very soft heart in this area, for others.

Awww....don't be sad queen, I still love you, and I'm sure many others do as well. I haven't seen you around for awhile; maybe we just keep missing each other's q/a's on here.
And BB is right, feeling unloved or left out isn't vanity. Sad to say though, the avatars we use do make a difference in how some people respond to us--at least to people who don't know us on here. I was non-existent on here until I started using the kitty avatar. LOL No kidding! And I'd been here a long time. Try an experiment-switch back to the corndog for a while and see what happens. :)))

you know what they say, if you act like a cow and a corndog then you are a cow and a corn dog. Avatars won't make you cool, you are either cool or you are not cool.

I have always thought you were a great contributor. I know some don't realize that the bantering we do , especially those from R&S is an icebreaker and helps people get to know each others sense of humor. Laughter is universally good medicine. If there is one that says they have no ego or vanity, they are just fooling themselves. [I always liked the cow, but that's just me!]

I'm always amazed by questions here. Sometimes, people will ask, "Who do you like the most in R&S?" It's not a competition. I'm not here to win the approval of others and neither should you be here for this reason. Choose your own avatar. Why do you need the approval of others?

There is no such thing as cool here, only popular among dorks, nerds, geeks, and dorky fundies, nerdy fundies, and geeky fundies.
