Belgian authorities are investigating alleged criminal practices by the church and its members. They are by no means interferring with 'freedom of religion'. People in Belgium are free to adhere to any religion they prefer. Committing crimes in the name of religion however is not condoned

They arent the only country. Germany, China, Russia, many countries have acted against them. Basically any country where they dont have full freedom of religion. Anyplace that decides who can worship what religions. Belgium doesnt consider Scientology a religion therefor they can prosecute them in the courts that way.

Germany didn't let Tom Cruise film there because of scientology, if I remember correctly.
While I agree that's it's a bunch of horseshit, people have the right to believe whatever they want. I think the important thing is to EDUCATE people, not ban beliefs.

Because believe it or not people do actually believe in the crap that Scientology teaches. This means that they are protected by Freedom of Religion.

You've got to let people believe whatever it is they want to believe, otherwise there will be conflict. It was, for example, a big mistake on the part of the Romans that they attempted to suppress Christianity.

thanx 4 the link creatix - I just read it, I feel sorry for that family so messed up not getting the help for their son that he needed. I dunno just makes me sad, religion does....
