Please get it checked out medically, because chest pain is sometimes a symptom of something serious.

If they say it's "nothing", you lose nothing here in Canada, because we have universal health care.

If they say it's "nothing", you should rejoice, not regret wasting your time. That's the answer you wanted!

Take care Rae!

Its probably heart burn. The food that is swallowed travels from the mouth to the stomach through a hollow tube called the esophagus (or food pipe). Before entering the stomach, food must pass through a tight muscle at the lower part of the esophagus called the lower esophageal sphincter (LES). The lower esophageal sphincter prevents food from traveling backward into the esophagus.

Once in the stomach, stomach acid digests the food. This acid is very strong and can damage most parts of the body. Fortunately, the stomach is protected from its own acid by a special mucous layer. The esophagus, however, does not have any such special protection. If the lower esophageal sphincter does not close completely, the lower part of the esophagus can be damaged by stomach acid. When this happens, heartburn may be experienced.

I just had the same experience. I have not had any spotting or infection but I had my 7 week ultrasound and saw that little heartbeat. What a relief huh?? I asked my doctor what my chances are now of something going wrong and she told me about 10%! I have been very worried because I have had a miscarriage in the past. I hope this helps. Good luck with your pregnancy!

It sounds like Heartburn to me. Did you eat something spicy before going to bed? Or something with a lot of Protein? That can result in acid reflux into your lower esophagus, expeciall when lying down. The best thing to do is to not eat these kinds of foods right before bedtime or if you do then take a glass of milk to counter the effects of the stomach acids. (((((Rae)))))

"They" say you should only REALLY worry if you have all three of the following symptoms: Shortness of breath, tightness of chest (or chest pain), and numbness or pain shooting down the arm.

Do you eat lots of spicy foods? Do you eat to close to bedtime? Take care of you --- don't want you getting sick on us!

I've had that before. It's scarey but it was nothing. Probably some kind of indigestion. If you get numbness in one of your arms or any other strange symptoms, I would get it checked out.
