Right now, my husband is a 63H, looking to reclass to an 11B. Is this possible? I know he has a "reenlistment window", which doesn't open up until like August 2008 or something like that. But, does that apply to reclassing? I'm only asking on here because we are in Germany and the retention/reenlistment counselors haven't been any help what-so-ever. He REALLY wants out of his MOS so... Any information you could provide would be greatly appreciated!

On top of what was said, he can do it, but does he really want to be infantry. He can request it with a 4187 or he can go through the BEAR program (talk to retention). If retention isn't willing to help, he can always go to the post retention officer or the european command one. He does have to be at his current station for a year though. Again, nothing against the MOS grunts are great people too, but he's going to deploy alot more, be punished alot more, but ranks fast right? Ask him if he's thought about 68W (was 91W--combat medic). Also, he's got to watch out for aptitude scores, color blind/vision tests, and the oh so important physical. He can also call his branch manager who may be able to pull some strings. Sorry I can't be of more help, but its been a while and theres a lot going on in your situation that is "grey area" to me.

he needs to go through his chain of command. typically he must have been in the current MOS at least 2 years before he can request to reclassify. Just be aware that if his current one is undermanned, they may not allow it, or if he doesn't have great evals, they can also deny it.
