All of you who complain that Christians are pushing their beliefs into the schools, do you know what I heard on the Mancow show this morning? In New York City, where you can't have a Christmas play in school and where and where you can't say the "Our Father" at a graduation ceremony, the city is funding an Islamic School with a principal that is affiliated with radical Islamic groups. Yes - while you are protesting against Santa Claus in a school play, local governments are funding the teaching of Islam. Here is the website that Mancow gave on his show:

I'd like to know what you guys think about that.

To "merrybodner" : The difference is that Santa Claus is not trying to slit your throat and bomb your cities. And, yes, I'd WOULD like to see a Passover play. I love the Jewish tradition

Unbelievers are spending too much time trying to abolish Christianity, but they don't realize that Islam is right behind them with a knife to their throat.

Poseiden is incorrect on this.

Schools in California have been teaching Islam to students in different school districts ever since 9/11. These same schools allow NO mention of Christ or Christianity.

They've even had some of the kids be "Muslim for a day."

I'll see if I can find a link to this. I remember reading it in a news article that was buried, and reported on by very few news agencies (as if that's surprising).

Propaganda. You can read the facts below. For example, did Mancow mention that the school is named after a Christian? Did you know that the school received terrorist threats?

You can be sure that the Christians wouldn't trade positions with the Muslims. If you think that Christians are an oppressed group in the U.S. and that Muslims are privileged, you're deeply delusional.

Separation of church and state solves all the problems. Public schools should either teach a little something about every religion or teach nothing about it. But personally I'd rather teach my own children about our religion and not trust it to a stranger.

The Christians versus the world drives me crazy. Here in the US you have every right to your religion and a few rights that should be taken away. We have freedom of religion and not freedom from religion. I hate "Ding Dong" ministers who pop up on my doorstep and try to preach the gospel on my front porch.

I have stepped down from my soapbox.

Public funds shouldn't go to religious education. Period.

I remember the Our Fathers in school; as I am Jewish, it was very disturbing to have to say a Christian prayer. So don't say it, you reply. Not so easy when you're in grade school and the only one.
As to the Christmas play, how would you like the Passover service in school, or readings from the Koran? Think of the other side: no religion in schools.

Yeah....I ***** about the Islamic schools too. There is no reason that my tax money should be used to promote ANY religion. And you are 100% right that it is getting out of hand in some of the more liberal parts of the country.

In God we trust on our money is but a joke, people are making choices because of what they have witnessed coming out of religion. Here in my home town just about every church has split up starting new churches, we are in some bad conditions.

I do not think Islam should be in the schools any more than any other religion. If it is an Islamic school, then it should not be government funded.

If true, it should not be a public school. While religion could be, and possibly should be, a subject at public schools, they should not be affiliated with or espouse a single religion.

I don't want religion taught in school for one reason only... I'm scared they will teach it wrong. I don't think there is anything wrong with saying your grace before you eat in school. Pledge Allegiance to Our Flag...we are ONE NATION UNDER GOD. If God wasn't real why would people put it all over the money for so many years? People now days just want to forget that God is REAL. That is scary!! Our God created us, and if he created us just think what God can do to us?
God Bless
