my wife found out i was having an affair with her sister when i gave her a make up present she set fire to the box I had it wrapped in and threw it at me. is that assault? would be in bad taste to ask her to refund my money.

Gee, I think the first mistake was to offer her the make-up present. This implies to her that she is ugly. What kind of make -up was it; like Maybellene, Lorelle, Cover Girl or Revelon? It may not had been the usual brand she wears and took it as an offense for your offenses!
You could call it an assault with a deadly mascara brush for your defense.

You are truly some piece of work. You are the one in the wrong and you have the nerve to ask if it would be in bad taste to ask for a refund. In bad taste is an understatement. You should be glad that she did not set YOU on fire. You are not truly sorry for the adultery that you committed with her sister because of your blah-say attitude that you are even showing on this site. You need to realize what you have done and only when you are truly sorry....IF you are ever truly sorry...then go to your wife and apologize and MAYBE she will have the grace to be able to forgive you for your sin against her.

hahaha. yes, it is ALSO in bad taste to offer her a "make up present" to make things right.

if you want to get her something though, get her (and yourself) a referral for a marriage counselor. though since you'll be facing her SISTER at family functions, i'm not sure how effective it would be.

but good luck anyway.

The whole thing is in bad taste, give her some time for the wounds to heal, she'll let you know believe me when she is ready for gifts...

well hun, sorry to say but you wasted your own money thinking any gift would make up for that double wammy. honestly yes, that could be considered assault but vs infidelity, you still lose.
