People that do door to door religious visits, what puts you off spreading your beliefs?

When someone answers the door is there anything that makes you just want to walk away?

Last time I had JW visitors I answered just wearing my jeans and one sock, and it didn't bother them at all. Do I need to try harder?

Some female J.W's involved in the preaching work have had naked men answer their door, in the vain hope the sisters will be shocked...they just do not look.
some brothers have had females also answer their door also naked. supposedly to shock. All that is important is to give people the chance to learn just what the Bible actually says.

What's wrong with just saying "I'm not interested" and politely closing the door? Why do people feel they have to go to extreme lengths?

Jehovah's Witnesses give up their free-time to voluntarily speak to complete strangers about the taboo subject of religion. Even before they leave their house, they know that they will face indifference, apathy and perhaps verbal or physical abuse. Yet, they still do it.

Since they are not doing it for money, the benefit of their health and are not coerced, you have to ask yourself, what motivates them to continually go from door-to-door?

They have a genuine love for neighbour and are keen to help people take a fresh insight into the Bible. There is nothing that can over-ride that. Jehovah's Witnesses the world over have been persecuted for their preaching but they haven't been put off, they still faithfully continue.

So, either politely decline or politely listen and, if you feel you have the truth, help them to see it.

I am not a "JW" and do not believe they follow the teachings of the Bible; however, they are concerned about ones soul. They are willing to go out and knock on doors to offer to spread their word in order to try to save people's souls from Hell. If true Christians would do this perhaps more souls would go to Heaven.

I have never done door to door evangelism, I'm sure there's a time for it but I just couldn't do it. I am always very polite to the JW who visits me, even had her in for a cuppa once. It's ok to debate but here in the UK people tend to be less pushy than the USA

Jehovah's Witnesses are willing to speak to you about the truth from the Bible if you wear one sock two , or fifty.

It doesn't matter.

What matters is the message of the Bible , and that is that people should alter their life course and bring it into line with what God requires and prove that they are on his side , and not that of the ruler of this wicked system of things Satan the devil.

me and a few friend had one of their little sisters scream in the kitchen and when we answered the door we said would you like angel pie they looked a bit startled and didn't come in when where is the cleaver to seperate the joints was shouted
