Of course, and not a bad thing either. If they've opened themselves to the prospect of beginning something anew then they have already accepted that they, in this new start are the child of the family and should be open to everyone around who, naturally, will know a lot more than them and hopefully, be able to teach them useful things about this new stage in their lives.
