i am being chaptered out for inability to adapt. im not in AIT anymore and im wondering how i can make sure people stay on top of my paperwork. i realize that the army takes forever to process paperwork, but how can i politely ask about it and find out if its complete? right now the legal office has it and is finalizing it and then it goes up to my company commander then the garrison commander. everyone who has been involved in this agrees the army is no place for me, but my unit doesnt really like me and im afraid that they will take their sweet time and not ask the commander about it if i ask them to. is there another way that i can contact the commander rather than having my unit (who hates me, dont forget) do it?

"is there another way that i can contact the commander rather than having my unit (who hates me, dont forget) do it?"
Yes there is. Go up to the commander yourself and ask him/her about the status. What are they going to do to you? Kick you out? They're already doing that, so what damage will there be.
"...my motto is if you hate something you either learn to live with it or change it..."
There's also a little thing about honoring a commitment that you make. You didn't state your age, but from what you say, I'm guessing you can't be any older than 24, probably even earlier 20's. You may hate your life now (in the military), but do you really believe that it will get better in 5 years? 10 years? 20 years? Hate to tell you, but it doesn't, especially with something less than an Honorable Discharge.
Companies DO background checks, and this WILL show up on it. Who do you think an employer will want to hire: someone that is willing to do the work, or someone that doesn't honor their commitments?

I am very sorry to say that there isn't a whole lot you can do. If it takes longer than expected, you can file an IG complaint, but that is something that if the paperwork takes longer than 3 weeks to a month, you can start it. The paperwork will be processed. Sorry about everybody else, there are those who are not cut out for the military, I've seen many friends get the same chapter even up to 3 years in the military. Even if your chain of command does not like you, and your ncos do not like you, it is still their duty to do whats right, right? I mean, thats what we're supposed to do. Give it a little bit of time, they're not going to try to f**k you, maybe mess with ya a bit, but if it takes longer than 3 weeks to a month, you could talk to IG or to Jag to see what hte hold up is. Keep your head up, it gets better.

"my unit doesnt like me because i cant do my job. air traffic controlling is hard."
Honey, there are things in this world that are hard & then there are things that you do b/c you said you would. Its called Duty.
"at least i didnt give up in AIT. at least i tried to make it to my first duty station and see where things took me"
I know people PERSONALLY that didn't make it through AIT & it wasn't b/c they couldn't or didn't want to. & If you hate your job now ... did you not realize it when you GOT to AIT? Usually thats where a soldier learns what they will do.
As for the bit on "they hate me" ... "the Army takes forever" ... yadda yadda yadda ...
BELIEVE ME; if you are a thorn in our side and you have left a sour taste in our mouths & you are more of a liabitlity than an asset... we will get rid of you. We love flushing turds like you on a daily basis.
& I hope you didnt get a big bonus... you'll have to pay some of it back. Why? You didn't fufill your contract. Same goes for schooling too.

Did you hate the Army in it's entity or you just hate your MOS? Why not try to get a different MOS instead getting a Chapter -11 failure to adapt.Well to answer your question there's no real way to speed up your paperwork it's called the waiting game you'll just have to wait patiently your paperwork isn't a priority as of now your not getting an emergany discharge so you'll have to stick it out for now.

Sorry to say this hunny but, the majority of civilians just don't have what it takes to be in the military and it sounds to me like you only joined for either the enlistment bonus or free college.
If it makes you miserable, maybe you should have thought about cross-training into a new field instead of continuing on being an air traffic controller....?
And, it's not a matter of "...they hate me...", it's a matter of them thinking you're just too incompetent to do your job.

Sorry, I really don't know where you can go to make things happen. It'll really more on priority on getting paper work done. Personally, if I didn't like someone that much... I would make sure I got rid of that person asap. Frankly, you need to forget that fact they dislike you so much... you got to take care of yourself and go in there and say something about it. I always tell the soldiers in my unit that using the chain of command is important, but if they feel that they are not working for you to make sure your information/question is getting passed on etc.... go above that person. SO if you feel you need to go to the commander, just explain why you went directly to him.
Are you getting out just because you don't like your job? Why don't you switch jobs and do somthing else?

Well, if they dislike you that much and you can't do a job that is that critical to life and death, I'm sure they'll get you out as they promised.
In the meantime, they will continue to pay you, provide you health and housing benefits and expect you to follow the orders of your superiors. It's a shame you just didn't ask to get a different MOS, since that seems to be your biggest complaint about the military (other than "everyone hates me.")

Look at it from the Army's point of view. How much of a priority should they give you as opposed to a 'good' soldier?
Your paperwork is being done - but the priority is going to soldiers who deserve some sympathy.
Hint: if everybody hates you then I doubt that the problem is them.

Did you think of reclassing or is it too soon for that? Anyway, if they really hate you that much...trust me...they will be on top of it. I don't understand why they would not let you do another job? There are ways around these things.

Sorry, no sympathy here. Why did you join? Free College?? Suck it up, do your time and remember, if you can't hack the regimentation, then you'll not survive the civvie world either...
There must be a reason your entire unit "hates" you...Do you whine too much??? Nobody out here likes a whiner either...I hated doing my time when I was 17-23, but I still did it...
