as apparently all animals are designed to be eaten by our increadibly, small and blut teeth, and seeing as we have such big claws to rip them open. do you think that animals were really put on earth for us to eat?

dont answer this by saying "the bible says so" think for your self for once

There is no where in the bible where it says being a vegetarian is a sin. In fact, the bible indicates that all mankind were vegetarians until after the flood. It wasn't until after that point that God allowed his creation to eat meat. But he didn't mandate it. He knew that as his creation moved further and further away from perfection, it would be harder for them to fulfill all their dietary requirements on a strictly vegetarian diet. I know of a teenage girl who became severely malnourished because she decided it was cruel to eat meat, yet she didn't research her diet to make sure she was taking in the needed amounts of protein, iron, etc. from other sources.

Of course it is not a sin. I don't understand why you asked this question. . .people have been eating meat since the caveman times. . its part of the food chain. . . the Bible never says it is a sin to eat meat or a sin to be a vegetarian. what we eat has nothing to do with belief in Christ. . so, yea. If someone told you that they are silly.

I think that historically some peoples would not have survived if not for eating meat as their main source of food. I am think of the Inuit people of the north, the nomads of the desert, and the native peoples of North American who did not have an agricultural society but followed the various animal herds for survival.
I see nothing wrong with people choosing to be vegatarian or vegan as personally I don't feel my diet is a part of my spirituality.
And that is what I think!

If we evolved from monkeys, I would say that the evidence points that we started out as "vegans". Of course I am not sure that our ancestor monkeys were, just guessing. Yet it is clear that in order for us to survive, I have read that we had to learn to eat red meat, and that that change in diet helped us to evolve our brains to what they are today.

So unless you have a dietary need to stay away from meat, I would say you are acting on choice not instinct or design as you have implied.

Whether or not it is a "sin", well I have read the bible extensively and have found no such implication.

I am not a Christian, but I will answer this by saying that Christians would not consider that a sin. They would probably say that animals were put here for humans to use, but people can have the option of not eating meat if they so desire.

T.D. for you Reborn:"
If we evolved from monkeys, I would say that the evidence points that we started out as "vegans". "

There is documented evidence of chimpanzees grabbing young babboons as a troop moved by, smashing their heads on the rocks, and eating them, not to mention they also eat insects which would in fact make them omnivorous, which we already knew they were.

Education is your friend.

EDIT:"the Bible never says it is a sin to eat meat or a sin to be a vegetarian"

it does not say it is a sin, but Genesis is where the ARA's get the "we were meant to be vegan" bulls*it from, check out what those douchebags at peTA have to say about it. It's jesusveg.com or some crap like that.

what an odd question??

we were created vegetarian in the garden..

It was not until after the flood that we given permission to eat SMALL amounts of clean animal for food since the environment had changed so drastically....

Over the years man has consumed vast quantities of clean and unclean meats which has destroyed his health.....

The chemicals, pesticides, hormones, antibiotics, recycled farm animals force fed in the feed lots, etc.

The consumption of unclean animals is appalling!!

Pig, crab, clam, lobster, shrimp, these are unclean!! As are cat, dog, rat, vulture, hawk, possum, squirrel, skunk, these animals are the clean up crew for the environment, not food..

The diseases of today are linked to the consumption of today's "meat market" .......

The dairy industry with its hormones and antibiotics, take a look at the development of pre-teen girls that have "udders" at age 12!!

Every day there is another medical finding of children's ADHD, autism, childhood diabetic, bi-polar disorder, etc. what are we feeding our children?

The over processed, food dyes, corn syrup, chemical preservative, artificial flavoring, glow in the dark, crunchy munchy crap....

On the contrary, eating meat should be the sin today.....since it is almost a form of suicide in a sense...

My source: I have worked in nursing homes for 11 years and have seen the end stages of the great American meat eating diet.....

I was able to make this comparison because I also worked in a 7th Day Adventist assisted living center for 1 year...It was a very big 5 Story building but we only needed 19 beds in the care unit....Had one lady who was blind who was 115 years old, a few hip fractures, a few diabetic with stroke, nothing major....

The age and needed care range in the regular nursing homes was 28 years old to 90 years old. And the diet provided there was the same things that had put them in the condition they were in..

I had to stop working the nursing homes after a few of the little old ladies I knew from church where in there...These ladies were 7th Day Adventist and life long vegetarians...the nursing home diet did not have a clue or interest in providing a vegetarian meal plan.... They were basically forced to eat meat products, egg products, dairy products, pig products..which their older systems could not digest....and then to top it off given 'ensure' which is dairy based because they were losing weight and other intestinal problems...and system failure..

I hope the families sued the nursing home..I quit...

apologize for writing a book, but it is a sore spot for me....
My husband grew up on a dairy farm and I grew up on a chicken farm..we won't touch any of the stuff....

Nope. My daughter is a vegetarian and I really don't eat very much meat. Eat what you want just be sure to take care of your body. Your body is suppose to be a Temple. Overeating, or eating only things that are unhealthy for you would be the sin.

I see nothing wrong with being a vegetarian, though I was told by a Christian while I was a vegetarian that I was sinning. This was years ago. Then I quoted the scripture to him that states that each person should decide for themselves what is clean and what is not, and that no one should judge them for it. (Romans 14) After that, he shut up about it.

I was a vegetarian for six years.
