The safety of the drivers is very important so I understand the COT and new rules that have been placed to make the drivers safer. . .and I respect that. My feeling is that the work is not done yet, because they have changed the racing so much with all of the changes. I really hope these are just some kinks that will eventually get worked out.

I don't expect Talledega to be as awesome as it has been in the past, but fingers are crossed that it will be an interesting race and that there will be a lot of racing. . .go Jr. : )

A few of things I'm interested to see are the speeds, the ability to pass and how bump drafting will be affected by the COT. These cars cut a bigger hole in the air and I don't think it will be as easy to get by the leader, even with help from another line of cars. I'm also wondering if you get hung out by yourself how much different it will affect the COT. The speeds will undoubtedly be quite a bit slower so maybe they can open the restrictor plate some to allow more air into the carburetor. It will be fun to see the affect on the racing and if it will help reduce the impact of "the big one".

Sounds like a few move people here won't be watching Nascar.

I'm looking forward to the race. It will be interesting how a short track/road course car does on a super speedway.

There was once a rumor that they were going to use the intake manifold (?) that the truck used, and where the restricter plate goes. The trucks can back off the gas, and do not lose the momentum as the cars did.

Nascar tested the COT during speedweek at Daytona this year. They tested restrictor plate size to determine what size was needed to keep speeds about the same as the old car.

The COT will be running the same lap times as the old car ran this year. I don't see the racing being any different.

The draft will be even more important!

We put the COT in the wind tunnel backwards at speed just to see what would happen. WOW! When one of these cars get backwards at speed, lookout, it's not going to be good. Rear wing creates a lot of lift! Someone will be getting airborne!

As far as the simulators we have at the shop, It will be easier to fall out of the draft, and if you lose the draft, you will be in big trouble. There will also be a ton of SLAM drafting!

Should be interesting! Definitely one to watch!

I think that the car's will be much slower being COT and plate .Still its all about the safety for the driver's.

Dega is my favorite track!

I think you will see much slower racing. Also more grouped up packs of cars and less passing

I am fully prepared for the race to suck. I HATE the COT, YAY for safety but... its just unmanageable right now.NASCAR needs to be careful, after the disaster that was Bristol they better not screw up Dega too.

If the cars get too spread out, which I think they might the race will be a simple follow the leader with 18+ pit stops. I think they need to take the restrictor plates off because the COT's will slow them down enough as it is.

I expect the race to suck. I don't like the new car, no matter how safe it is.
