my ex broke up with me about 2 weeks ago and a week later he siad he really wanted to go back out and was very interested but now it seems as though he has lost a bit of interest but he still tlaks to me all then time. the thing is i still have feelings for him alot and i would go back out with him if he asks but i told him its all up to him on what he does because i want him to work a bit at it so i know. do you think i should ask him whats going on with everything or would that be a bit forcing?

It's real simple. He finally took "no" for an answer.
Whatever feelings you have for him only matter to you now. It's a woman's prerogative to change her mind, but it's a man's prerogative to only hear the "No."

Sounds like he is still unsure. You can give him a dealine date to decide what he wants to you. Just tell him that you can't put your life on hold forever. He needs to make a decision, so that you will know where you stand.

Ditch him. Its not just all up to him - you have a say in it too.
