You have been convinced that it has to do with God wherein it is said in the Bible about natural disasters happening when the world is close to end, well part of those natural disasters is what global warming is about. And glacial retreat as you think it is, is global warming. We can just give names on those natural disasters like typhoons, hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, etc and I guess on a higher scale, global warming. Have you ridden in a car without air-con or the air-con had conked out? So you need to roll down the windows to have comfortable ventilation. But what if it rains so hard that you need to close the windows lest you get wet inside the car? What happens inside the car then? It gets hotter or warmer. Some may term that as auto warming while you can claim it to be just an air-con retreat.

Global warming is a proven fact. Scientists have long agreed that the Earth is getting warmer. The whole argument around global warming has to do with the CAUSES of the warming that's currently being experienced and is not about whether global warming exists or not. It does!
The argument centres around whether global warming is due to Man's actions, or whether it is merely part of a natural cycle the planet goes through periodically. The only difference it really makes is that if it is Man who is causing the warming, then at least we have a chance to try and put things right. If it's nature, there's nothing we can do.
The bottom line is that the vast majority of respected scientists believe that the emission of greenhouse gases is the major reason why the Earth is currently warming up. It is wrong to imagine a warmer Earth as one where each day is a few degrees warmer than it used to be. Instead, a change of only a degree or two in average will cause dramatic changes to the weather, sea level, climate and both animal and plant kingdoms. The World as we know it would be severely and profoundly changed, and not for the better as far as humans are concerned.

Global warming is caused by man. You will have to just trust me on this because the consensus is in - according to the IPCC, global warming is "very likely" caused by man. So there you have it. You can trust us that YOU are causing the devastation of the planet. If you still don't believe it, your IQ is somewhere south of 70. Do not question us because we care more than you about the future of all of our children!
Seriously, Leonard L. gives the best explanation of what is going on. The debate about whether man is causing global warming is key because if the alarmists can convince the public and politicians that man causes it, they can push through their political agenda which sounds suspiciously like socialism and/or communism. Capitalism is the source of all evil in this world. Yeah, right.
The "leading" source of the anthropogenic global warming is the UN's IPCC. Why does most of what they believe, seem to affect the US the most? Why does the US seem to be the one expected to foot the bill for reducing emissions? We all know that the UN always has the best interests of the US at mind...

I believe in climate change.
The extremes of weather patterns shows something is going on.
After much study on my own, I have to conlcude that there are two dynamic forces going on at the same time.
The forces of capitalism is taking over the world. Through many past innovations, mankind has enjoyed many benefits.
Unfortunately, these past innovations have a dark side, as does many things.
Ozone depletion due to fossil fuel consumption and the proliferation of internal combustion engines have to have an impact on the world's climate.
As earth deteriorates gradually, the main question is whether capitalism can nurse earth back to health.
A perfect example can be seen in what the Bush policy looks like. It depletes resourses so much that when tragedy strikes, it can't effectively cope.
The Bush legacy will no doubt show it's inadequacy to respond to immediate and pressing demands caused by wanton abuse of our natural resources.
I hope I gave you some insight as to what is going on, as plainly as I can put it to you.
Conservation and innovation to clean up past mistakes should be the agenda we adopt...the sooner the better.

our carbon dioxide buildup was predicted 50 years ago by oceanographers. change at the polar caps was predicted 30 years ago by climatologists, as was our global average temperature today.
these are examples of scientists predictions about global warming for the past 50 years, and they seem to be coming true.
Also, data from tree rings, ice cores and coral reefs taken with instrumental observations of air and ocean temperatures, sea ice melt and greenhouse gas concentrations have all emerged in support of climate change theory.

yes, look at our world, its weather and the landscapes of certain areas around the globe and how things are changing for the worst.
you do not need to be a scientist to know that global warming is vastly affecting our world. just open your eyes.

I definitely don't. British Yachtsman Adrian "Wrong Way" Flanagan is now trapped by the arctic ice that "melted" and is being chased by the "endangered" polar bears.

I don't believe in it. If global warming is such a problem, then why for the past three winters have we been setting record lows?
Extreme Heat = Global Warming
Extreme Cold = Global Warming
How does that make ANY sense?
And maybe we need this warming trend so that way my grandkids won't have to experience -25 degree weather.

yes i do. for a start, it's more plausible than a belief in a god...
also, for whatever reason, climate changes are happening - that's scientifically been stated internationally. whether we're directly responsible or merely just making an existing thing worse, i think it's irresponsible to deny it.
although, with much of their beliefs and teachings, christians are fairly irresponsible

I do..we can experience it here in the Philippines. It should be rainy season now, but then, it is so hot! It is just abnormal!
So how can some people say that they do not believe in global warming? do you have to experience its extreme for you to say that you do believe in it now?
