I was reading this fiction book where the whole family sleep with each other: mother & son, son & sister, son and father, mother & daughter - big orgies all doing really warped stuff.

I believe there isn't a person in the world who hasn't thought about it. That's not to say they thought about DOING it, but thought about it either in the positive, negative, or even with a neutral attitude, it has been thought of. All these people who say "I would never think about that" had to think about it in order to answer the question...

Of course I have thought about it. Just to answer this question requires a person to THINK about it. :-) I was an only child living with my dad, with no mom. As a teen, with the hormones taking control of your body, there are just some nights when you would have sex with anyone or anything if you could.
But seriously, in our culture it's difficult to make ongoing incest relationships emotionally healthy. There's too much disapproval from society, and being members of our society ourselves, we know we are breaking the rules if we have incest. So, outside of fantasy environments and fiction where reprisals and bad consequences don't happen, incest can mess up your life. Even if you approach a member of you family but don't go through with it, it will make that relationship strained. Just considering having sex with a close family member might change your behavior towards them. Sibling rivalry would become something else, and how can you still be a parent with authority over your kid if they are your sex partner?
Also, incest for real isn't usually consensual - there's rape, seduction or blackmail going on. Then there's the Oedipal complex or the Electra complex, and pedo stuff going on, it's all a minefield, ready to blow up at the first misstep. Sure, if there wasn't all that nastiness to deal with, it might be fine. but there is.

This may be good for fiction but not for the reality. Time to time the siter/siter or sister/brother incest may be stasfactory both physically and emotionally. But that needs special circumstances, mainly serious isolation from the world. I have heard only one incest relationship between daughter and father what about the dauther said it was okay for her, but in that case they see each other first only when the girl was about 20. So, this is also a special case. Generally, there may be understandable or acceptable incest cases, but the life of those person is always very exceptional.

Incest is one of the most abhorred acts which may feel nice in pleasure for a few moments but devastating the involved and their families completely as time progresses.
