God can do anything he wants if you want him to.
"God made the world"
"God made me"
"God is going to destroy the world"
God did this and that and the other thing.This is what people say.This is what people read.This is what people want.And this is what people imagine.They have willed him into existence and want him to do all the things they believe he can do.If you really want God to do anything then all you apparently have to do is believe he can because that is what you want.Personally, I just go with what I know to be true and learn about what I don't know.For me, there is no imaginary invisible friend who does what I want because I believe he can do anything.

Yes, God can do anything He wants, but He will not do anything contrary to His character. So, if He is full of love, justice, mercy and grace, He will not lie or be untruthful.
So far, as I have been reading in the Bible, God has never lied to His children. He never told us that we would have no problems, or that there would be no pain or trouble. These are all in His Word. What He does promise is that He will be with us through all of these!

God can do anything *except* commit sin or evil. It's not part of His nature. Telling lies to people or being untruthful to His followers would be sin.
God 101 - God is all-good. He is Truth and Goodness itself. Anything that exists that is not good or is not truthful is not of God. Therefore it is, by its very nature, flawed. When our human ancestors rebelled against God, and set themselves up as being on par with God, they allowed, by their own God-given choice, evil to enter the world. How to remedy this awful situation? We as flawed humans cannot do it and never could. Only God could do it. How did God do it? By becoming one of us, in order to show us how we should live our lives, how to relate to God, to atone for our sins, to destroy once and for all the power the devil had over mankind up to that point due solely to our sins, and to give us a chance to have eternal life, should we decide to voluntarily accept it.
Outside of that, yes, He can do whatever He pleases - It's His show...... We are the players. He is The Potter, and we are the clay.....

God will not do anything that violates His nature. Being untruthful would violate His nature, and we would have no reason to trust Him.

God can do anything that is in His nature and will to do. God is Holy and utterly righteous in all ways and cannot sin, He cannot lie because it is sin. Sin is disobedience to God's commandments or rebellion against God. He cannot act contrary to His Holy nature. It's why His promise is to be taken as assurance and as certainty. We have faith in God's spoken/written word, His promise of Salvation through Jesus Christ who died for our sins to pay for our sins...is the promise of salvation for the world that was given by God and established from the beginning, and faith comes to all from this promise.
The prince of lies is Satan, lies and sin is his dominion...

Of course God is able to do every thing he wants, He is able to lie, but he doesn't need to lie .. If you think carefully people always lie because:
1) They want to hide something (such as their style of life, their business, their failure etc) but if a person is perfect and excellent in everything, or if he is so power full that he can change everything as well as he wishes, he doesn't need to lie at all. When God is willing something be hidden he doesn't need to lie, he can simply hide that case by his power or change that as well as he likes.
2) we sometimes lie to people who are in higher rank in compare of us.for example: our teachers, parents, our boss, etc . In fact we are going to attract their satisfaction, or we fear of punishment, Whereas God is in the highest rank of all and nobody can punish him! So why should be important to him to attract our satisfaction by telling lie? Anyway we can not have any ability or power against him!
3) We sometimes lie to people for earning more benefit. But
when we believe God can do everything he wants, So it means he can earn as much as benefit he wishes, so there is no need for him to lie.
4)We sometimes lie to people because we have mental illness, but if God is able to do everything, so he can not be mental illed at all..
5) Is it enough for you my dear friend or you need more reasons for proofing that God is Able to Lie, But He Doesn't Need to Lie at all !!!!

Since man made god's attributes human-like, he can do anything he wants. Notice the 'he', not she or it, very human-like. Don't you think that it is the height of arrogance for man to think that man is the highest form of life in all the universe? And that our gods have to act like us? Just another reason to not believe in any religion.

The only limitation to God's power is that he CANNOT break his word--were he to do so, he would in a sense cease to be God.
