I totally agree with that quote. Both winning and losing can be habits but it all depends on the mindset of the individual. If someone truly believes in their abilities and pushes themself to the limit, he or she can truly be a winner at heart. On the other hand, constantly doubting yourself can affect you negatively. Furthermore, the first answerer put it perfectly; "habits can be broken."

Anything we do is habit forming. If you do anything more than 3 times in a row you have already started doing it by habit. When we get into a habit, good or bad, they are often hard to break. If winning is a habit, then the skills we are using to maintain that winning streak are improving as we go along and we gain strength by them. The reverse is true too. If we are in the habit of losing it is because we are not using our skills and therefore, the more we lose the more we feel like a failure so the more we give up and lose again and again. Good habits can benefit us. Bad habits can harm and even kill us.

Yes confidence plays into every aspect of life, and it's driven endeavors, either to victory, or defeat. Then the answer is that habit can build confidence, and the habitual feeling of low esteem tear us down to habitual losers.
