After a period of time, the newness of a relationship wears off. So, despite the best of intentions, for most guys, being in the relationship with you becomes the new "status quo." It's not great *just* to be in the relationship anymore... but it is preferable to being alone.
Also, most people have a much more acute sensitivity to losses, than to gains. That's another reason why men won't approach women-- the risk of loss of social status (initially) outweighs the perceived gain offered by initial positive reactions.

Lady Shank,
Yes.. there are some cases defining your question..
you know,,, there is what we called conscience of love..
people realizes their faults in the end. In this end, he will wait until what will you do unto him.. If you'll dump him he will realize how dummy he is...
But, there are some cases that the boy has 2 gf.. but 4 example one gf will dump him, of course, he will go to another girl.. but if this girl where he turned to will also dump him, its up to him to decide who are the best and whom he loved most....

They don't. They just can't face that you have left them and are subconsciously competing with you to get you back. Males cannot face being the recessive side of the human race and would prefer to be in control. So they don't love you more than ever, they just want to prove to you that they can actually be in control.

Because, we tend to fall into that comfort zone...the 'old-shoe' syndrome, so to speak. It's a pain in the azz to have to date and groom a new girl when you've gotten accustomed to having a regular sex partner on-demand. Otherwise, variety would be the buzz-word of the day; it just isn't that easy for most men to accomplish, or there would be no monogamous couples to speak of!

Because men are from Mars and woman are from Venus! Like the song says, You don't what you have till it's gone. . ." You just hope you don't make the same mistake again!

They love to chase after someone who they think doesn't care. It is dumb, but that's the way they work. They love a challenge, a contest. You must always keep them wondering about you. Never pour all your love into his hands. Give him something to seek after, to chase. It's really fun, once you realize how they work!

This is because they only realize your "value" when you've dumped them. They didn't treasure women when they were with them. Only when they've left them, then they know how precious you are.

Because they don't realize what they had until after they dump you. Distance makes the heart grow fonder and all of that nonesense.
