YES a GED will allow him to join but if he scores low on the ASVAB then he will more than likely only be qualified for a combat MOS like infantry tanker scout artillery or mortars
but he will also recive college benifits so he can make a future for himself as well gaining life expeinice you cant get anywhere else

Yes, they do accept GED's. The only problem however is that your son will be required to take the ASVAB - an aptitude test that measures many subjects, including math. The math portion however is pretty easy, but if he completely fails it, it could bring his score down too low and he might have to wait until he can pass it. Also, the better he does on every portion of the test, the better selection of jobs and opportunities he will have in the Army.

GED is acceptable. He will also have to pass the ASVAB test before the Army will recruit him. If I remember correctly the min is 35 or 36 total and that is just good enough to get into the infantry.

Yes they will accept a GED but there is an entrance test that he will need to pass. And if he has recieved money for being disabled, not services but money from Social Security, it will be more difficult.

yes, but only a very few each year and his options will be much more limited. he must also score higher on the ASVAB(50 instead of 31 for Army)
he'd be MUCH better off sticking it out and graduating.
