there isn't an alphabet in chinese. there are just words, each word has a specific symbol for it and many words have different symbols depending on their useage. it is a very difficult language to master.
korean is considered to be a bit easier because they do have an alphabet called hangul. as a second language all asian languages are difficult to master as far as the written part is concerned.

您好 nin2hao3= hi (to older people)

3 waving intonation
4 falling intonation
好 is composed of 女 woman and child 子 so as mothers are kind to their children it means "good" 你 or 您 means you so nihao means literally "you good" and is used as common greeting
