I believe that God does plenty to prove that He exists- He shows me His love and mercy every day- however I am just curious, and please do not think I am judging you, I am just interested in hearing from those who don't believe. What would it take for you to believe?

fundamentalist1 I think you totally GOT my question. There is nothing else He could do to prove His existence. People chose to believe or not to believe.
For those who say, that if God existed there would be no suffering people in the world. Suffering came into the world by Satan and by people, not God. For those who think that my life is all wonderful, that is why I feel the love and mercy of God you are wrong- I struggle every minute of every day, with a chronic disease that causes severe pain. I could say, there is no God because of my pain- but through my pain, God has proven His love and mercy to me- there is a HUGE difference.

my relationship with Christ is real- even you chose to believe that I need to come down to reality. Why does it bother you so much that I believe? I know I will be asked why it bothers me that you do not believe? It does not bother me, I am just curious how you cannot believe.

Phantom- I agree with you, that those who chose not to believe, may never believe, and no proof would be enough- however I know quite a few Christians who at one time said, they would never believe, so it can happen. How about CS Lewis, an atheist who turned to Christ. That passage of scripture is truth, because all of God's word is truth- but also look at Paul- He was having Christians killed, and God revealed Himself to him, right?

God one day will end all war, poverty, hatred etc. I guess that will be the day that you believe, however then it will be too late

for those who don't believe there is never going to be enough proof. God is doesn't demand your believe, he leaves it up to you and that the beauty in serving him.

end war
end hate
end hunger
end disease
oh yes, ...stop stupidity too.
For me to believe any supernatural being accomplished these thing, I would first have to see them accomplished overnight, as if by magic, and I would have to see supernatural signs that this being was responsible.
Here's a good way!
God could first do all the good works above. That should be easy for a guy who makes whole universes in six days! Every person on earth should simultaneously hear his resounding voice delivering a heavenly message. This message would have to be in the each person's native tongue, ...or god could make us all speak one language so we could understand his message this time. ( that would effectively repair the damage done at the tower of Babel. )
Oh yeah, then, I would like to see gigantic blocks of ice form in the northern oceans, (to replace the ice that has melted from global warming caused by his greedy capitalist believers) ...and he would make this ice into permanent letters that spell out an apology for being such an egregious A$$hole for all this time.
He could resurrect all the free-thinkers he allowed to be burned, tortured and killed during the Inquisitions. He should publicly punish all the perpetrators of heinous atrocities and war committed in his name.
He should also tell us once and for all, which version of religion is the right one because their are so many conflicting versions of the "one truth."
Belief in a supernatural being requires supernatural evidence.
To believe this being is "good" he would have to supernaturally do "good" things or at least bring a miraculous (hence supernatural) end to all the bad stuff.
To prove he is a "Just" god, he must make retribution for his own past mistakes and the evil acts of his followers.
Then, to finally prove we were created in his image, I want to hear him tell a few jokes. That's right... jokes. One of the defining and best characteristics of human nature is a sense of humor. According to all accounts, ( Bible, Q'ran, etc. ) god never displays a sense of humor.
Have a god prove he is funny by doing a little stand-up routine that makes us all laugh hard enough to forget what a schmuck he's been.
THEN, I might believe in an all-powerful benevolent deity.

In a nutshell, showing up would do it. God is still stuck in the belief stage because no religion can prove his existence. The only proof that they have is that someone said so. That is not proof. God didn't show up on 9/11, no God when priests were molesting children, no God to help save the 300,000 victims of the 2004 Tsunami (many who prayed 5 times a day). The proof is in the pudding but the religion business has no pudding. God would instantly convert millions of non-believers simply by showing up. Religion/sectarian violence continues to take innocent lives. All we need is for God to get the religions to agree on God. You can petition Him until you're blue in the face, it's not going to happen.

So what love and mercy had he shown you? The fact he let you live?
The fact you believe in something imaginary that makes you feel good and needed does not prove this imaginary creature existed, it just proof you have a great imagination.
What would it take for you to come down to reality?

As cheesy as this is going to sound......He could show up at my door.
Then take me high in the air, and say, "See, this is what I see every day. I realize that what I had initially tried to accomplish went horribly wrong, but I believe there is good in every man. I believe there is hope for mankind, but, they need to search deep within themselves to turn that hope into a reality. I never meant for hatred to become so prominant....if there was one thing I could do over, it would be to be able to restrict the power to hate. It exists in all men."
I would stare in awe at Him, having even more respect for Him at that point, because of His decision to "ride the storm out"
I know part of Him would say to me...."My Earth, my Baby, so beautiful, yet, so fragile.....I had truly hoped that coexistance was possible, even to this day....but, alas, I too, know when to throw in the towel.....I'll let man destroy his home, and let his greed seek to destroy other "homes".....and ONE day....ONE day, he will realize what he had.....when it's gone."
I am a non-believer. I also know that if an all powerful being presented himself/herself, lol, there would be more chaos at THAT time than at any other in history....all because of our greed.
I love life. I ,too, do not judge, and have no problems with your beliefs.
Great question, btw.

Whew, what a load off my back knowing you won't judge me. Golly, thanks. I happy to know such a special person as you 'cause if their is a god he must be taking that love and mercy "he" gives to you from little babies in third world countries who never know a moment of peace, let alone happiness or even lack of severe suffering in their short miserable lives. For me to believe "he" exists, I would have to sense "him." Any one of my five senses; preferably sight, but something a bit more than a crying statue or a piece of drift wood with a silhouette of a hippie's face.

What you believe is a matter of opinion...nothing more. I mean I could believe that neon unicorns help me put my shoes on in the morning but that doesn't mean it's true. For me to believe in any of the thousands of God in history would be for them to actually show themselves. Explain why their holy books are so flawed. Actually perform miraculous things that cannot be otherwise done with science. And do it in front of not only me but Thousands and thousands of people...for verification purposes.

Make all amputees regrow their missing limbs.
Feed all the hungry, sick, dying children of the world.
End war, famine, and disease.
If I woke up to a world like that, I would know that some miracle had occurred overnight that science could not explain. OR, he could just rearrange several constellations to form the words, "Hi, I'm God! Will you be my friends?" But of course, none of that will ever happen. As Mr. Rogers once said, "No kinds of wishes can make things come true."

He could show Himself, or possibly do one of those miracles that were talked about in the Bible. I really do not have any proof whatsoever of a greater being existing. I have a protector, but it's not the Christian God or a greater being.

Not one thing !!! He proves Himself in everyday life . I see Him in everything, in every breath I take. I guess, when people ask for proof, they are not paying attention to the things that we look at, they are too much concentrating on themselves and their problems and issues.
