i know that here in Texas you could get into trouble for it. heck, there are people getting in trouble with the same age scenario that the 16 yr old has their shoes off in the car and are getting charged. the whole thing is about who's pressing charges though. like said, how many 16 year olds that kiss a 20 year old are gonna run off and tell, then have charges pressed. it's more than likely not gonna happen. but the situation presented in front of a judge, it's nothin but bad news, even a kiss, or even less, undressed with just a pair of shoes off riding in the car.

Hi honey ! So nice to see a decent question for a change ! So there's a five year age gap - My ex g/f is FIFTEEN years older than me ! Personally speaking - it shouldn't make any difference to your friendship becoming more intimate. Some people will frown on it - but you're not breaking any laws ! If he'd been any younger - THEN you could have been in trouble. Build your relationship gently - as you say - you're both fragile beings - just take each day as it comes. You've only known each other a relatively short time - the rest of your lives is stretched out before you - how you progress together - is up to both of you. There may be a few individuals who will try their best to split you two up - but believe me - if your feelings for each other are good enough - you'll come through it stronger, and wiser. Not in Australia. I suppose it will depend on what state you're in (if in the US) and what the 'legal age' is. Although there was 'only kissing' if the girls parents have an issue with you and she is underage, they may prosecute you for 'assault' even if she wanted to kiss you, she's still a minor. Of course, this is a stretch, but with the kinds of cases getting through these days, I wouldn't be surprised.

I did once at a beach party when I was 20. This lassie had been wanting to kiss me ALL night, so I gave her the pleasure of it. =) No make out, or anything. Just one kiss to keep her happy. Nothing much wrong with it in my eyes! As long as you don't make a habit of it!
It's hard to resist though. I tend to attract a horde of 16/17 year old followers! Eek! Lol. =)

well, if you're a girl, then I don't think it's bad.
16 yr. olds tend to like older girls. the other answers apply for a 20 yr. old guy and a 16 yr. old girl. I'm not sure for the other way around.
He must've been thrilled that an older woman kissed him. You probablly made his whole month!

There's kissing and there's kissing. An affectionate peck on the cheek, no problem. Heavy petting not acceptable. Wait a bit longer.

nah nothing at all wrong with just kissing, but anything more than that then you are pushing the boundaries of what is legal since that person is not 18. but you are level headed i am sure and would never do anything like that.

yes, they are minors, you cannot contribute to the delinquency of a minor. That is against the law.
I'm sorry people, but making out with a 16yr old will get you in trouble. Why even risk it? Braces and a learner's permit couldn't be all that hot?

Unfortunately, yes.
But it happens all the time; unless she didn't want to kiss you or something, she probably isn't going to go running to the police about it, and thus it's not really an issue.
