At the vet's office, buy Advantage or Frontline. It's a liquid you put on their neck once a month that seeps in directly to their blood and kills fleas, flea eggs, and ticks. It's extremely effective.

The only thing that will really get rid of the fleas is going to the vet and getting Advantage or a similar product.
Giving the puppy a bath will help a little bit, but will not get all the fleas. And, the flea shampoos, etc. that you can get at Wal-Mart, etc. don't work.
I would suggest trying to keep the puppy in the kitchen or some area of the house that does not have carpet for the night, and then apply the medicine the vet gives you, then let her have the run of the house. If the fleas get in the carpet, you are going to have a very hard time getting rid of them.

NO!!!
Puppies under a certain age can not be given any flea treatment or medication whatsoever! Even over the counter treatments that are marketed specifically for puppies are not always safe. All those other answers are great answers, but for dogs, not puppies. For now, there is not much else you can do besides keep up with baths and use vaccuum-up flea powder (Wal-Mart), keeping your puppy away from the chemicals!
Wait until tomorrow and ask your vet. He or she may be able to give you something. After that, or after your dog reaches a certin age, you'll have to fight fleas at all stages: flea eggs on your dog, grown fleas on your dog, flea eggs in your home, and fleas in your home. A series of shampoos, gels, and powders will do the trick.
Until tomorrow I recommend a "flea bath" which is actually a flea dunk. Your baby's probably not going to like it, but it's the safest thing you can do. Submerge your puppy in water up to his/her head for at least five minutes, drowning the fleas. Hold him down, but give him reassurance. Tell him that he's a good boy while you're soaking him and give him a nice treat afterwards.
Sorry there's no quick flea fix for puppies!

A bath will not do a lot. Go to your vet and get a topical product like Frontline or advantage. This will kill the fleas in less than 24 hours and will actually kill the fleas that get into your home because the product gets on their skin cells and fleas feed off these skin cells that fall off your pet. Don't put any other product on the pet until the vet because if you do depending on the product you may not be able to use the vet products because too much of the chemicals can be dangerous.

dawn dishsoap... will kill the adult fleas immediately. Keep her confined on tile or linoleum so that the fleas dont get into the carpet. If that happens you will continue to have a problem even after the vet. and I would honestly just let her potty on the tile/linoleum until you get rid of the fleas, not great for potty training but if they get in the yard they will be THAT much harder to get rid of.
The pill someone mentioned is called Capstar, if the puppy is completely infested i suggest using this. Until then keep it away from carpet and grass!!! if it's already too late get some flea powder on the carpet and then do as above and VACUUM! there is nothing worse than getting fleas in the house and i've been hearing that the topical treatments arent doing so hot this summer.

I would give her another bath using a flea shampoo:

Also vacuum any areas she's been in to try to suck up any fleas that may have jumped off her. If they get around your house and start laying eggs, you'll be dealing with them for the next month or so.

you probably have fleas in your house now. you'll need to vacuum your whole house, couches and everything and then throw away the vacuum bag (get it out of the house as soon as possible) you should also go to wal mart and get a flea powder or something to sprinkle on your carpet and stuff. your vet may give your puppy some flea pill... i forget what it's called and may also use a spray to treat.
good luck!! i have been there and it was horrible!!!

Well, on the off chance you have a horse, fleas loath horse smells. Grab one of the horse's blankets and let the puppy sleep on it.
Washing the puppy in Dawn dishwashing detergent will also help kill the fleas. Just don't make a habit of this because it can dry the dog's skin.

Water will work and drown some of them but be careful with a flea shampoo some of them are age restricted. They also make combs so you can comb the little buggars out. Depending on the time you might not be able to get one they are in petco like stores.
