I have wanted to dye a thin bottom layer of my hair pink for a long time. I haven't been able to find the correct shade to do it with. The only one I can come across is this one from Hot Topic:
http://www.hottopic.com/hottopic/store/product.jsp?FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302028579&PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524441919711&bmUID=1188973239380
I begin school Thursday, and I want to have it done by then. I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to make the shade lighter. What if I left it in for a shorter time span, or added another ingredient to it. I don't want the color to look horrible though. I wanted it to be a cotton candy pink, like this color: http://images.eonline.com/eol_images/Entire_Site/20070119/293.mcadams.rachel.011907.jpg

I am also using a semi-permanent, because I have very light hair naturally, practically platnium blonde. So I do want it to fade over time, within a few months. I don't want it to leave behind a nasty residue forever.

the one from hot topic will fade pretty quickly. i used to use their ultra violet purple and the electric yellow. that shade of pink may work if you do a quick application and removal but you'd just have to test it out. also you could look at sally hair supply stores they have those semi-permanent alternative colors as well.
good luck!!!!

use it with a semi permanent blonde shade close to your own colour and mix it half and half to subdue the shade of the pink down, it should also wash down in a couple of washes to that second colour without adding anything to it but your choice... GOODLUCK

i heard that if you use the pink one it turns out looking kinda purple. and if you use the red one it turns out a hot pink.
