My guess is that when you're sleeping with someone you sleep in a position that is hard on your back. It's important to keep your spine aligned while you sleep. A body pillow or just any pillow can help with this.
You say you're active but do you do anything to strengthen your core muscles? They're crucial to support your back and prevent back pain. I love the exercise ball for this. It's done wonders for my back. Seriously, from the very first time I used it - but make sure you use it correctly, bad form can actually worsen the problem.

Sounds familiar, You probably need a new mattress.
That will help initally, if you get one, you may want to see a
Chiropractor for a realignment, you will likely feel much better after that. A little tip though, alot of times people with back pain tend to want to buy a stiff mattress and that is not always the best. Spend some real time testing them to make sure that you it will be comfortable for you "long term".
And no sleepin with fat chicks! (sorry too much coffee this am. lol)

Most likely you have some vertebrae chronically slightly out of alignment. Check with a good chiropractor. The younger you are when you get it worked on, the faster it can be fixed.

Probably due to musculoskeletal issues, and is aggravated when sleeping with someone else due to your sleeping position.
You are young and healthy, I would recommend trying a chiropractor first

depends on how big the person is, i slept for several months with a much bigger man, and would fall into the grove, there are lots of good excersizes out there, ask your dr. (yoga is great for the back)
